It works pretty closely to how it is described.

Be warned that it is POWERED by the USB and outputs the sound through the AUX so be aware of that when using this product.

I expected this when I ordered it for use in my car with an aftermarket head unit and it works perfectly for me.

I would give it 5 stars but the aux cord is cheap quality. It works but it looks fragile. Also the USB itself is fragile construction as well. I think as long as you don't remove and plug it in and take it out repeatedly it should be okay. But for the price and its conveniently small size you can't beat this deal. I would definitely recommend this product to somebody because of how inexpensive it is.

I had relatively high hopes for this one, but was somewhat let down. I have a different Bluetooth audio receiver that has problems resuming after a pause, and was hoping to use this in its place. It DOES correct the resume-after-pause issue, but adds a new one: When this device powers on, it connects to my iPod, but almost immediately disconnects again. I have to go in to Bluetooth settings and connect manually. Once I do this, the connection is solid and it resumes after pause with no problems.

Since this is part of my car setup, I was hoping for something that would connect automatically every time I start the engine. Sadly, this device doesn't let me do that. I'd much rather have a device that connects automatically and has pause issues than one that I have to manually connect to every time. I'm probably going to connect this one to a pair of computer speakers in the bedroom, so I guess it's not a total waste. I guess.

Interestingly, this device makes all the same "sound effects" as my other device - upon powerup, connection made, and connection lost. The two pieces are totally different form factors, but they pretty clearly have the same "guts". Kinda cool.

Update 07-13-13:
I ended up connecting this to the stereo in the living room instead of to a set of speakers in the bedroom. I leave it plugged in and powered on all the time, and can connect to it at any time (manually, of course). Sounds great, and it's nice to be able to control the music from across the room - and still be able to read e-books on the iPod at the same time. The LED on this is BRIGHT, and flashes constantly. Not so nice for bedroom use. You could easily cover it up with a bit of electrical tape, but I decided I'd prefer it in the living room anyways.

I have a 2012 Buick Regal, I have bluetooth hands free calling, but not A2DP streaming. This filled that need perfectly, I plugged it into the USB port in the center console along with the aux in jack, and it is out of sight, it works perfectly! I was unable to tell a difference in quality between direct aux in and this device.

Pairs easily with my phone. Good sound, blue light shows status. Wanted to give 5 stars, but only 2 out of 3 I ordered worked. The third had a solder blob bridging between +5V and the grounded USB jack shield. That some idiot designer placed the +5V USB terminal there is not the fault of the manufacturer of this product! Fortunately, the case snaps apart, and I was able to pick the short out with a pin. Someone else may not be so lucky.

I bought this little guy with high hopes and decent expectations according to its purpose, price, and previous reviews. These are all the reasons why I would give it the amount of stars I did:

Pros:
1) Since it's rather small, I get the power from the USB port located right next to the Aux port inside the armrest compartment of my car (2011 Volvo S40 T5), basically meaning it's completely hidden and always gets power when my car turns on.
2) It always connects with my iPhone IF my Bluetooth is already on, which I don't turn it off often enough to say this is an issue.
3) When I receive a call in my car, the music does pause and it switches to my car's built-in Bluetooth system (which lacks media support, hence the need for a dongle like this).
4) I have not witnessed any problems with other devices connecting to this device and playing music.

Cons:
1) Only one device can be connected at a time (not really a big deal, it's not the Logitech Bluetooth Adapter for 50$ that holds 8 devices in memory).
2) Only 2 or three times has this happened, but the dongle will suddenly start going all static with any noise, even the sound it initially makes when powered on (I would notice this when trying to correct the problem by disconnecting and reconnecting). Has not happened in a long time, but it still happened.
3) Get your own auxiliary cable, this one was crappy for me. I got a radioshack grey short one and that guy has worked perfectly.
4) It doesn't transmit that far, walking away from the car causes the sound to distort (obviously you're not walking away from your car while it's moving though, just putting this in for those wishing to have Bluetooth in, say, their bedroom, with this device).

Overall, I was definitely getting tired of having to plug in and unplug aux cables in my car, so I went wireless. This was the cheapest option and has worked great so far minus the few hiccups which I've gotten over.

I was hoping to use this in my car as a Bluetooth audio connection that would automatically work when I started the car. It did start when I started the car but dropped the connection almost immediately. Secondly their was a very noticeable hiss in the audio. I tried using another cable and it still had the hiss. I then tried another device altogether and the hiss was gone.
