The use of this device is actually very limited. It can only work for gas can because the head is designed too big than I expected. It just just fitted with 5 gallon gas can. Quality and workmanship are perfect,but don't know how long it can last.

I got this pump to help move fluids from large barrels to smaller and easier-to-work-with jugs. The current hand pump I have is too large and not very managable for a single person to use.

The TeraPump provided a stead trickle of fluids. It was slow going but very easy to work with.

The auto shut off definitely did not work nor was there a buzzer. By the time it filled a jug I was lost in thought and it overflowed several times on me. I was hoping once I tested it a few times I could just leave it go and come back in a few minutes... instead I'll be cleaning the garage floor.

I use this for all fuel transfer functions. Those 5 gallon containers are fine for filling at the pump, but holding them up while trying to fill something is a pain. I use them to transfer gasoline from the 5 gallon containers to the car, lawnmower, chipper, ATVs, snowblower, generator, everything except my chainsaws. For those I use 1 gallon cans by hand but I fill those 1 gallon cans from the 5 gallon cans using this pump. Also use it for transferring diesel to my tractor and truck. I have used one for almost a year now and it seems to be holding up fine. Of course, I have 3 more in stock as backups as I am not expecting 10 years of use from something as inexpensive as this. Keep it out of the sun and the plastic shouldn't get brittle.

The auto shutoff is a nice feature and really works. They also do a good job of getting almost every drop of liquid from the 5 gallon cans if you can get the pickup tube into the corner of the can. Maybe a couple ounces left in the bottom. I prefer the 2AA version over the 2D version because I use rechargeable Eneloop batteries for everything.

It's not the pump I ordered, The one I ordered had D batteries. I figured that might give it more power. The discharge hose is too short. I had to build a stand to set my gas can on to use it. I have a lawn tractor, mower, and that is what I got it for as the gas cans were just getting to be more than I could handle without spilling or over filling. This seems to work like it was designed to after I made the stand for my gas can to get it closer to the tank on my small lawn tractor. I did notice that it is too short on the intake too to reach the bottome of the one 5 gal can I have so will have to stay with using the 2.5 gal cans I have. But once I got everything done it seems to work good I filled the tractor in no time and it shut off on it's own like it was designed to.

I first bought the tetra pump which runs on "D" batteries to use for pumping gas in my lawn equipment. I have 5 gal gas cans and they get really heavy to balance while filling up my mower or mulcher. Works great and sure saves the back! It works so well I decided to buy this tetra which runs on smaller batteries to use in removing water from my cattle tanks and from my pond when I need to clean them. It too works like a charm and saves me from having to use buckets to empty the water. Even better this tetra has a blue handle so I won't forget it's the one I use just for water removal. The other tetra pump has a purple handle. These pumps work quickly, quietly and the buzzers do wk!

I love this thing, since I have the new and supposedly better gas cans, which by the way, I can't pour the gas out of no matter how hard I try.
I do need to use a bucket to rest the gas can on, so the can is close enough to my outbacks gas tank, to use this syphon. The hose is just too short to have the gas can on the ground.
After using this a few times, I do wish I got the model that calls for a D battery, instead of the AA batteries, since the transfer of gas would be faster.
Otherwise, this syphon works as described. It even stays in my cars gas opening without me having to hold it. I do not trust this completely yet, so I do not walk very far away as I'm transferring gas.

I have grown tired of throwing away gas when I transfer it from the 5 gal purchase container to the smaller 2 and 4 cycle containers I need to. This should greatly reduce the mess. There is a minor consideration: The automatic shut off will not permit use in the dark. I would be nice if there was an override switch. It will work if you shine a bright flashlight on the sensor in low light conditions.

After years of using 5 and 2.5 gallon gas/diesel plastic "gas cans" to fill my MF210 Diesel Tractor and Sears 26HP Riding Tractor to cut and trim 5 acres of field transfering the fuels always led to spilling fuel. "A MESS". With the TeraPump the fuel trasfer is clean and quick. I have 2 pumps, one for gas and one for diesel. What a relief...........
