I have used this product for years. The price is decent on Amazon and I like Grandma Lucy better than Honest Kitchen, as I believe it is a better company. The ingredients are (unlike HK) mostly sourced in the USA and Canada and the dogs love this food so much better. You can mix it with any meat protein. I also add some (filtered) fish oil, supportive herbs and any vegetables or fruits I have handy. This is very healthy. I also give my dogs a little bit of kibble, such as Fromm, Merrick and Horizon, in my opinion these are the best companies around, and I have had dogs for the past 15 years having tried all kinds of diets. I also give once in a while a Merrick can as well if I don't have the time to make the food. Some of my dogs love raw, so I buy some raw organic chicken or some foods like the K9 or Tucker as well. My dogs are very healthy and even have survived cancer with herbal therapies, such as the COD tea or Graviola, my oldest is a 12 years old rescue Schnauzer and was diagnosed with terminal cancer four years ago. I'm very proud to say that he is in good health with a good diet and the herbal remedies. Good health to your beloved dogs too!!

My rescued American Bully does extremely well on this premix combined with an assortment of raw proteins (boar, beef, venison, chicken, pork, salmon, etc.). His coat has improved, and he is noticeably leaner and better defined. I switched from another vendor's premix and found my yard cleanup chores to also be improved (less smell and reduced volume). My other rescue pit bulls use this premix as a "gravy" over a high quality kibble.

I was looking to place my dog on a raw diet due to his severe food allergies which caused him ear infections and skin rash. However, I wanted to find a pre-made raw food. This was perfect for us. It's a raw food base - just add a cup of whichever raw meat we prefer and he has a well rounded meal. My dog is a large breed, so I use one cup of the pre-mix plus one cup of raw meat per meal (2 meals per day). I also add a chicken liver or two about once a week which boosts some nutrient value. As for crunch, there is none with this food, so every other day I feed my dog a raw meaty bone (chicken thigh, chicken leg, turkey neck, etc...) for the crunch, teeth, and calcium factor.

It has been about 3 weeks now. Not only does he love the food, but his allergy issues cleared up within a week! The rash was gone very fast. The ear infection is clearing for sure, but that takes a little longer. He seems happier, more energetic and he is not licking and chewing himself anymore. I am very happy with this food!

As for price, it is a little expensive, but not as expensive as other pre-made raw food brands (kibble and/or mixes). Because of the size of my dog (90 pounds), the 8 pound bag only lasts me about 3 weeks, and I do wish it was a little less expensive for that reason. However, I am going to stick with this food anyway because it agrees with my dog and that is what is really important. He means a lot to me and I am willing to sacrifice a little to make it work.

This is the best food for dogs with allergies. My puggle has being on this food for over a year and she is doing great. I add a 1.8 oz of cooked beef (she weights 21 lb) twice daily, since she is allergic to everything else.

Best dog food on the market. I've been feeding Grandma Lucy's to my 7-year old Shih Tzu for about 8 months and she loves it. I would not even consider going back to feeding her dog food that contains who knows what and comes from who knows where. It's too risky these days to take chances with dog food and/or treats that could possibly contain non-US sourced ingredients.

Excellent source of protein with the use of the garbanzo beans. My dogs can't eat rice or spuds so this was a welcome find in a grain free food. I just add their raw meat to the mix and they vacuum the stuff up. Don't be put off by the price-it makes a good bit. Plus they will eat all of it so their is no waste.
