I have another favorite - Blackwing 602... a lighter sketch... the Tombow is less rough, more exact.... less play but quicker to a finished product! Tombow definitely lasts longer than Blackwing 602.

I started picking up drawing again this past November. I was using a standard number 2 pencil, that smears, and has loose lead (where it easily breaks apart). So I spoke to a graphic designer friend of mine and she recommended these pencils. So i tried them out and they are perfect. I've been drawing for months and I'm still using the first pencil in the box. Does not have an eraser, but kneaded erasers don't cost much. It still smears but not nearly as much a standard pencil. A very smooth pencil. Overall I definitely liked the quality of this pencil.

I tried a Tombow 2h a year ago. I bought one at Da Vinci art supplies. I loved it so much that I didn't want to sharpen it. I went back to buy more and they didn't have any left.
Now that I can buy pack of 12 pencils, I am over the moon.
I use the 4h to build up the illustration. I find the Tombow 4h softer than other 4h pencils. I use the 2h to finish up my illustrations, as if it were an HB. I tend to have a heavy hand when I draw and Tombow gave me the perfect solution.

Good pencil for beginning to advanced art students. No eraser, so students will need a separate eraser when drawing. A separate eraser is common for art, however, new art student will need to adapt to that situation.

I like soft pencils for drawing things that I am about to build, as well as using them to mark lumber. This is my first time with a soft pencil that has no little hard chunks in the lead yet does not crumble in use. I sharpen my pencils with a knife and these carve smoothly to whatever point you want. Erases cleanly, draws crisply.

A bit pricey but a great pencil. Very smooth, smudge resistant lines. I know this is technically a drawing pencil but I use the HB (no. 2) for writing. I seem to think better with a pencil than a pen. For this reason I really miss having an eraser on the end. But the pencil is beautifully crafted with cedar shaft and a gloss black finish with cleanly applied gold print and butterfly icon. I do with they wouldn't put the upc code on the shaft, that really detracts, but maybe these are meant to be sold individually.

The best pencils I ever used in my carrier. I draw anything with these but mostly portraits. The led is very soft but really dark so it's great for shading. Erases easy (if you are easy with pressing the tip on your paper.) I use it mostly on 80lbs vellum paper. It's great for detailing. It sharpens nicely, the wood part is good quality so it does not chip. I have been doing art (and selling it) for 40 years. Weather it's a rendering of a home, or a drawing of an infant, I only use this pencil. You will not be disappointed if you love to sketch or if you are a draftsman. Well worth the price.
