sharpened about 5 pencils before it started taking huge chunks of wood. too bad, too, cause it is really cute. so if you are looking for a plastic desk ornament, this is your sharpener! if you actually want to sharpen more than 3 or 4 pencils, you should look elsewhere.

Our experience was the same as another reviewers. This sharpener didn't allow whatever pencil may be inside to even touch the blade, let alone sharpen anything. It went in the trash, and I would not recommend this product to anyone.

Just got the "sharpener" and it does not sharpen at all! We tried veriety of pencils... the blade does not even seem to touch the pencil. Very disappointed and it made my 6 year old cry, she was very excited to do some sharpening... Gave it one star because I had to I guess they deserve 1 star for getting me to buy it.
