It contains SULFUR DIOXIDE as preservative, the seller not list all ingredients, It tastes not spicy. The Now Foods crystallized ginger dices is better, more spicy, first ingredient is ginger root plus evaporated cane juice and cane sugar.

This is my favorite of all the crystalized ginger I've tried. Trader Joe's does have the uncrystalized (that is no crystalized sugar on the surface) which reminds me of ginger gummy bear cubes. While that one is also very good, I prefer this one. Both have a strong, but not overwhelming ginger bite. I prefer the consistency of this one. It's basically ginger root sliced and crystalized, so it's chewy but not overly so. I don't personally like the brands that simply dissolve in your mouth. I like to have to chew the ginger to enjoy the flavor. I highly recommend it, though check around on Amazon for the best deal as these often come at widely varying prices depending on how many you're buying (set of 2, set of 6, etc) and you might as well be sure you get the best deal possible.

While the product seems to be good, the wait for it to arrive was HORRIBLE!!! Plus, the packaging it was mailed in was totally destroyed... not a good rating situation for Trader Joe's. Disappointing I expected better from Trader Joe's This product arrived and had an old root like taste (kinda like beets) terrible after taste I would not purchase this product again. Instead of young tender ginger it was old, tough, and stringy, I do not recommend this product to anyone.
