My cat likes these a lot, though only off and on (sometimes she goes crazy for them, sometimes not). My only complaint is that by the time the bag arrives, enough of the morsels are smashed that there's a significant amount of freeze-dried chicken dust in the bag. I use that to sprinkle on top of her wet food so as not to waste it, but it'd be better if the morsels stayed intact during the journey.

These wonderful freeze dried chicken treats are made in the USA and a healthy choice for your pet. I would happily give this product five stars based on the quality as well as how much my pets like them, however, there is an inherent fault with the type of packaging that most manufacturers use with freeze-dried treats and that's the reason for the 4-star review. Crumps freeze dried chicken treats do not look freezer burned like many other brands and that along with the fact they are made in the USA is why I always choose this brand. I used to purchase another brand's product but they began to look freezerburned in the package.

The "sawdust" that other reviews have spoken of happens with almost every freeze dried chicken product (my only experience has been with the chicken variety) and is a result of the product being bounced around inside the bag during handling and likely during shipping to the store/distributer and when shipped to the customer. This product generally breaks apart less easily than some others I've purchased. But, I do not believe that any product like this that is packaged in a bag (as most freezedried products are) can avoid this. It would be smart for all of the manufacturers to adopt a different packaging process...and we're still waiting on that. But, until then it seems we will have to deal with some "dust" in each bag. I've been told by one of the manufacturers that they suggest adding this "dust" or "powder" to the pet's food so that it does not go to waste. I actually purchase the dog size treats for my cats as they are the same exact product only larger. This cuts down on the "dust" because the pieces have more opportunity to break into smaller pieces before disintegrating.Read more ›
