I was able to install this kit onto a buddy of mine's 2015 F250 Superduty truck this week. I would say that it's wonderful to have once installed. I would also say that unless you have a lift, it's a pain in the back to install. .... Literally.
All the parts were there, although the large bolt that attaches the passenger side upper bracket was too short to fit through the frame with the two "thick" washers they told you to install, one on the outer part of the bracket, and one in between the frame. Luckily, I had the exact bolt I needed in my tool box, but it still should have all the parts you are going to need. The frame is pretty thick on this truck, and if I didn't change out that bolt, the nut wouldn't have threaded all the way on.
So, the install is pretty straight forwards. The drivers side is extremely overcrowded because of the DEF tank, lines, wires and such. This kit fits right in there, and there's little room to spare. Forget about getting a socket on the 1/2" bolt on the upper bracket, as you will not be able to with all that stuff in there. You'll need an open ended wrench and and air gun on the outboard side of the frame with a 3/4" socket on it. Tightened it right up, and onwards I went with the install.
Alignment is key for making this kit work. You need to make sure that lower support plate that sits on the Jounce slapper is sitting on it flat, as well as up against the inside of the u bolts holding the axle to the springs. once you have all the parts assembled (but not tightened down) you simply pull the plate towards the U bolts, and tighten the two long carriage bolts that attach it to the axle with the bracket below.Read more ›
