wow this is such a great mat!. It grips the surface you place it on so there's no slipping and sliding when you are rolling out fondant :) Its super easy to clean!! wish it came a tad bigger for those taller cakes that you need to roll bigger sizes for. Otherwise I'm in love with my pretty-in-pink matt :)

This works great for rolling fondant or cookies. It's thick and stays in place, although if I'm kneading really hard it will stretch/ripple a bit and then go back to flat. I love using it for cut out cookies since I can pick up the mat and peel it off the cookie without damaging the cookie's shape. It also doesn't stain from food coloring, which I like (I've put AmeriColor gel food coloring straight on it and it didn't stain). The color is a little bit softer than pictured; more like bubblegum pink than neon pink. It was a pain to wash until I figured out to fold it in quarters, rinse each side, then lay flat on the counter and use my hand to rub with soap, then fold in quarters and rinse again.

I love how it doesn't move, but I hate that when I roll my fondant out the letters and numbers gets stamped into the fondant. Save your money and buy a real Matt. I would only suggest you buy this one for like polymer clay or for doing figures, not rolling your fondant.

I can only echo what the other 2 reviews said about this mat. I love it! It stays put, cleans up in a snap and it holds up great. It also makes placing the fondant onto your cake so much easier. You can fold it up to store it and then when you take it back out to use later, it shakes out PERFECTLY smooth...not a crease on it. Can't beat the price either! I would highly recommend it. :)

OMG! This is so great! what a great help, it made it so easy to place the fondant on top of the cake, because it is flexible, and then the fondant doesn't slide off it easily, so it will go with a little press on top. Easy to clean, and it grips on the surface you out it on. That was a great buy!

This mat is awesome! I've been working with fondant for years, just sporadically though for my kids birthday cakes. I tried to cut corners, cost wise (since we all know cake decorating can get expensive) and never invested in the correct tools until now. Let me just say it is totally worth it! Before I would just roll out my fondant on my countertop covered in shortening or powdered sugar. It worked OK but not great. Also it was difficult to cut figures from the fondant this way. When I got this mat I was excited to try it and it did not disappoint me! It has made working with fondant soooo much easier. I find that if I only have a small amount of fondant (and I don't press too hard with my rolling pin) I don't even need to use shortening or powdered sugar backing. When I do it is only a very small amount as opposed to what I was using before. Plus, this mat stays put and is easy to pick up and move your fondant around without ruining it. The fondant for the most part peels away easily from the mat and looks smooth and glossy. I use an exacto knife to cut figures and it works great...doesn't cut through the silicone, and I suppose because of the silicone material, the fondant stays put better and gives me cleaner lines on my decorations. This mat saves me time and is convenient...before I had to wash down my counter every time I made a new batch of fondant or if I worked with different colors, etc. It was a big pain and made my hands raw if working with a lot of fondant in 1 day. Now I just pick up the mat, drop the crumbs into the trash, dust it off and toss it back on the counter, ready for the next batch. It's awesome! Just wish I would have bought it sooner! Oh yeah I love that it is pink too, hehe.
