As someone else said, The Voice meets cooking

The premise of the show is great. The blind taste tests remove the likely hood of bias judging which is great. Love Anthony and Ludo the most since I'm familiar with them from previous things they've done. As someone mentioned, Malarkey is full off douchebaggery. And all I could think of the whole show was "did the term 'you're full of a bunch of malarkey' derive from this guy?" cuz it most definitely seemed like it. Lol. Wouldn't mind him being replaced by someone less annoying but that's just my personal opinion which I'm sure is not shared by all. But I was very happy about who won the show and think it was well deserved. She was my favorite contestant and totally adored her. All in all, my only complaint (other than Malarkey fitting the saying perfectly) was the show was incredibly short. I'd like to see this come back for a second season and be much longer. Either have more contestants or only vote off 1 person a show. I felt like the show was over way too quickly and I was still hungry for more.

good first try at a great concept...

one of my pet peaves with contest shows is the question of blindness and bias. This show has a lot of promise if it sticks with that idea. Unfortunately where the concept breaks down is the final judging; where all pretense of impartiality breaks down. Early on, through blind tasting one of the judges was nearly marginalized and the results proved that the concept could easily be discarded if it meant unfortunate results for a judge. Something Anthony Bourdaine himself would ridicule if done by someone else.

The personalities make for good tv, with the exception of the douchebaggery of Malarkey, his utter lack of grace and charm stand in sharp contrast to the other three judges who--although not without their own strong personalities--at least have some gravitas. Lose him and also go back to blind judging the final outcome and the show might have a a chance.

Oh yeah, the spoon delivery women are a jarring distraction and seem to be dressed by someone who has been to one-too-many trade shows...chefs coats or serving uniform would make the show a little more credible.

My sweetie and I had been watching The Taste on Hulu as the episodes aired, but time got away from us and we never saw the finale. Hulu takes the programming off their site after a certain amount of time, so I thought we would never get to see the final episode. Amazon came to the rescue with this digital version. The price was right and we only had to buy the episodes we hadn't seen yet. This was great! We really enjoyed this show and look forward to another season of it.

I have always been a fan of shows like Chopped and Rachel vs Guy, but this show is excellent and has a real competition angle to it that makes it a must see...DVR if missed! Watching via iPad on an extended business trip made it even sweeter!

It's pretty good...

You really need to watch this show. It's pretty good. Malarkey is great but very young. The English woman Nigella is ok but - heck - I don't know about these English women. I really like Ludo. He's like Chef Ramsay but more French. But the best one is Bourdain. He's very cool. I really like him. The show was VERY short!!! Just a few episodes. It should have been longer. I do hope they do a season 2. Maybe Chef Ramsay will join them.

I'm not much on the numerous talent shows that are currently airing. However, I love food and the culinary arts. This show has taken a pretty good concept and added it to something I love. And the celebrity mentors are working really well together.
