Can't fault this item, it is what is and you may need it to get all the channels your DirecTV has to offer. Good price, they manufacture a zillion of them so they can keep the cost very low.

My HR24 came with 2 of them, but of course I lost one in the process of re-doing and relocating, so now I have a spare.

I had one of the two converters on my DirecTV DVR go bad and getting a replacement from them was not reasonably priced. Not to mention that I'd have to wait about a week for it to get to me and in the mean time I would not have been able to access some of the HD channels. I decided to check in the Amazon site and found that they were available, at a much, much cheaper price and since I have Prime, they would be in my hands in 2 days. The converter worked perfectly and I now have a spare. I'm glad I checked on Amazon.

What a bargain! Replaced both the failed converters on my Directv HD receiver with these. They worked flawlessly and returned my system to solid performance. These are absolutely identical to the directv brand converters.

A close proximity lightning strike produced a surge that knocked out a portion of one of the original converters. The affected receiver would work on only a fraction of the DirecTv channels. The price was so good that I ordered the pair rather than just one. It worked perfectly since the only difference from the original was the serial number. I now have a spare, so I'm ready for the next thunderstorm. The order was received in just a few days - faster than expected - and I would definitely order from the same dealer again.

I have several DirectTV receivers. One of the older HD ones had pretty much quite working. Frankly I did not want to deal with DirecTV service, I like the service, but talking to a human is "next to impossible" so for the past year I just didn't use it. Then I ran across these and could not believe the price for two of them. I ordered, put on and now the system is perfect. These have got to be one of the great deals around for DirectTV subscribers.

One is DOA, the other, based on my working with DirecTV, is marginal, at best.

I bought these because I was travelling and wanted them faster than I thought I could get them, for no cost, through DirecTV.

I've learned from this mistake, after three hours of messing with the converters & dish trying to get a better signal.
