I have very strange skin. It's dry, yet constantly breaking out. So, what I end up with is my foundation always looks caked on and crusty where the breakouts are. When I generously spritz my face with this spray after applying my foundation/powder, the end result actually looks dewy, which I didn't think was possible with my skin! I was worried that the spray would "wash away" the makeup on my face, but it actually did just the opposite...it set it so that it lasted all day.

Living in the Pacific NW and we get a lot of humidity and flat out rain. Because of this I've had trouble keeping my "face" from slipping off my well over 30 dry sensitive skin. Before using the NYX dewy setting spray I tried the MUFE setting spray and found it too matte for me. This NYX dewy setting spray keeps my colors true-- my blush used to fade and foundation used to wear off without it. I think it helps my eyes & brows a little too, though I always use eye primer. I haven't noticed any increase in breakouts related to using the spray, and my bottle's nearly empty.

If you have oily skin you may prefer a matte setting spray. NYX dewy setting spray works well for me (and it's inexpensive compared to others); here are a few tips to help it work for you.

1) Powder your face before applying this spray. The NYX dewy setting spray brings the soft "life" back to your face; often powders leave us a little too matte and mask-like. Use a powder puff and press powder over your visible pore areas. Use a powder brush only to sweep away excess powder- buffing your powder in can make your face shiny. :-|. Kind of counterproductive, that.

2) Apply everything *except* mascara before you use it. It'll reach your eyelids better and won't accidentally cause your mascara to run.

3) Cover your hair- After I'm all made up I toss a hand towel over my hair, close my eyes and give my face a few spritzes. If you get a little too much in any area you can gently blot it off with a tissue. I figure I put enough hair product in my hair and after blow-drying my hair straight I don't need this accidentally reactivating my natural frizz.

Let dry and there you have it!

I have dry, dehydrated skin which means that popular setting sprays like UD's All Nighter, MUFE's, and NYX's matte spray make me a cakey looking mess. Setting powders also do not get along well with my skin, which meant I was kind of out of luck until this came around. NYX's Dewy setting spray truly does set my makeup and keep it looking fresh and beautiful nearly all day long. Foundations that would slip and fade within 4-5 hours now last me over 8 hours before breakdown begins. Some don't even begin breaking down by the time I take my makeup off for the day! This feels light on my face, no stickiness, tightness, or irritation. I honestly can't feel it on my skin at all once it sinks in.

Depending on the finish of your chosen foundation, you can get anywhere from a satin to a very dewy look with this spray. My MUFE Mat Velvet in combination with this leaves me with a beautiful finish that looks like natural, glowing skin. Used with Laura Mercier Silk Creme (which is notoriously difficult to keep on your face) I get a gorgeous dewy finish that looks as if I've walked out of a South Korean fashion magazine and it stays that way all day long. With Loreal's True Match Lumi I'm left with a satin-y luminous finish that's popular on the runway now, but with all these different finishes, none make me appear greasy or oily. Even my oily areas don't look funky with this, if anything it actually helps control my oil somehow which I find fantastic.

Also, I see a lot of people comparing this to MAC's Fix+ and claiming this isn't as good, but Fix+ is NOT a setting spray, it doesn't do anything to set your makeup and keep it in place. Fix+ is for refreshing your makeup and skin or keeping it hydrated through the day, not keeping your makeup on. Adjust your expectations for a true setting spray and you'll get along fabulously with this.

Just bought this and used it yesterday. I went to the park and played with my son (running around and all that) with my makeup on. Normally my makeup would've been completely worn off but this setting spray kept everything in place (even my cheap eyebrow pencil stayed!)! Works great. If you apply too much powder, this fixes it without taking it all off. I use this before I do my mascara and lipstick and it gets rid of the "powdery" look, keeps me from looking cakey, and keeps my makeup on all day.

I have been on a hunt for makeup setting sprays for a while. I have used my urban decay all nighter makeup setting spray for years but I never felt like it did what it was supposed to do. I heard good things about the Mac fix + but their products always caused my skin to get acne so I'd rather stay away. I came across this product and I have pretty dry skin and I've always been looking for the most perfect products to give me that most perfect glow. Ladies (or gents😊) THIS product will lock in your makeup. I'm telling your this product makes my makeup last all night AND gives me that dewy glowy skin that I've been dying to have! It has become my holy grail. I haven't even touched my urban decay all nighter because the quality is just not comparable. Not all amazing products have to put a giant dent in your bank account. There are affordable beauty products out there that do the same thing if not BETTER than most high end brands. It also helps if you have normal skin, and say for instance you put too much powder on and you look powdery? This takes away a powdery look and helps your makeup look blended and natural and seamless. I would definitely repurchase this and I would like to try their other versions of this product as well! Great buy! You will not regret it :)
