We like these nipples for a few reasons, as our girls got older (6 months) they were a little more demanding with the food, the original nipples have one hole and then there are ones with 2 or 3 holes for a faster flow but they also leak if tipped over, with he variable flow there is a slit, so there is no hole or opening until the nipple is deformed and sucked on, then the harder you suck the larger the hole gets. It works very well for our girls, and of course they are genuine tommee tippee units so they are high quality plastic and last a long time.

I am just starting to introduce the bottle to my 2mo baby and have not tried the tommee tippee bottles yet. However, when my milk came in when he was first born, we had a hard time breast feeding because he was drowning in milk! My mom suggested putting a slow flow bottle nipple over my nipple to slow down the flow. I found that the tommee tippee slow flow nipples worked best for this. They were the closest shape to my breast, so when he sucked my nipple wasn't stretching. I would use the nipple over my breast for the first 10 minutes of breast feeding while my milk was flowing fastest, then I took it off and fed him on my breast for the rest of the feeding. Its not the most comfortable way to breast feed and it's a little tricky, but it sure beats a screaming, snorting, gagging baby! I now only use these nipples to assist breast feeding when I am engorged. They have helped me and my baby a ton! My baby has not had any confusion between my breast and the nipple. Hope this helps new moms out there!

NO, it is not improved. I want the old and unimproved back. These are supposed to be slow flow but the milk flows out when you tip it upside down. The old version did not. These are too fast and my kids wont take them.

We switched to these from the step1 nipple. We only feed breastmilk through these, so I can't speak about anything else, but the step one was collapsing on him while he was drinking his bottles and these do not do that. They allow him to drink more with a little less pausing. We switched to these at 6 months old.

My daughter is 1 and we needed new Tommee Tippee nipples. We decided to try these and have been pleased. She drinks her milk at still about the same pace as with the 6+ month (size 3) Tommee Tippee nipples. I can't attest to how they would be for a younger child but for her they work just fine.

Love t.t. products. Baby number one loved all of them, and no confusion going between bottle and mom. Tried number 2 on them as a healthy newborn with b.milk, due to bf- ing issues, and the number 1 flow was too fast. Tried these variable flow ones and now even at 2 months it just comes out too fast. But she has a strong suck.
Perhaps she will like them as an older baby. May also be better for formula, as it would be thicker. We are now happy on the number 1 nipples again, and doing well. No confusion for this baby either. Love t.t.bottles!

These nipples are slow flow as described. I have bought some nipples locally claiming to be slow flow but they weren't, these are. Only want to express words of warning so you don't do what I did and wash it by sticking a bottle nipple brush through the end in a hurry because they can (and do) rip and become fast flowing. Just take care while washing. Other than this (which was my own fault), I never had a problem with them and like them so much that this is a re-order.

I bought these when I was considering adding cereal to my 6 month old's breastmilk at daycare. Well, epic fail because the breastmilk breaks down the rice cereal faster than he drinks and he can't handle the flow of this nipple. So we've stuck with the slow flow.

My only pet peeve is the silicone gets gummy with wash and wear. I think nipples should be regularly replaced anyway, so no biggie.
