This is hands down the best keyboard I have ever used and I cannot imagine anything possibly beating it. I normally would not spend so much on a computer accessory, but I use one of these at work provided by the company and I have to say that I don't think I can ever go back to a regular keyboard.

It was different at first and to be honest I had a little trouble typing, but after a few days I have to say this thing is like a dream.

The keys are weighted perfectly. It seems that the keys in the middle of the keyboard are weighted heavier than those on the edges, so this is proportionate to your finger strength, resulting in the smoothest typing experience ever.

The keys are mechanical, but are very quiet. They have a nice tactile feel to them but not a "clicky" sound like a lot of mechanical keyboards. This is good for my own sanity and my coworkers' as well.

The build quality is insane. This keyboard is HEAVY. It will not slide around on your desk easily. Each key is extremely well made with great material quality. The switches can be pressed millions of times. The whole thing reeks of quality.

If I hadn't ever used this I would say $250-$300 is way too much for a keyboard. But after spending several months with the Topre, I would buy a replacement if I ever lost this one for some reason. It makes me WANT to type it's that good. Love it and Topre products forever

There are lots of nerdy people where I work who are into mechanical keyboards, which has given me the opportunity to compare them, head to head. Most people in the market for a mechanical keyboard know that they tend to be clicky and noisy, and typically use 'cherry' switches.

This keyboard is NOT silent, but it is much, much more quiet than most mechanical keyboards using cherry switches of any color. Of course, this is one of the few mechanical keyboards that uses Topre switches, which is a completely different technology that is much more quiet than cherry switches.

If you are looking for a mechanical keyboard that provides a crisp click break-point before the key bottoms out completely, then this keyboard is NOT for you. The break-point is somewhere about half-way down, and typing requires very little force. However, the only feedback at the break-point is the appearance of the letter on the screen corresponding to the key pressed, but otherwise no real mechanical feedback.

The Good:
1. The build quality is truly phenomenal. It is relatively heavy, and will NOT move on your desk.
2. The surface of the key-caps have a nice texture. They are made out of PBT, which is superior to ABS (the material most keyboards use).
3. It is a matte blackish/grey color, and looks cool.
4. It really is just great for typing, period.

The Bad
1. The very high cost.
2. Although I am a touch typist, I prefer back lit keys, especially the function keys. None of the keys are back-lit on this keyboard.
3. For the cost, I would like a wireless option. After all, this keyboard is designed primarily for typing, not gaming.

I am very happy with this keyboard. Its REALLY nice for the office, since its much quieter than the clattery cherry's or the buckling spring (which I do LOVE) fyi. I also find the constant weight of 45g very nice for typing. It reminds me of the mac classic keyboard, but better.

The dip switches let you change the caps lock and ctrl keys. It also weighs a TON (3 lbs) so it never moves. My typing seems faster and more accurate.

My office mates are happy since they don't hear my typing all the time. RECOMMEND YOU BUY ON Elitekeyboards site, since its cheaper than amazon.
