I don't understand the complaints. I've now used these for two years in multiple fixtures, and they last as long as advertised. I haven't had any "explode" on installation. They work well with our dimmers, and GE cleverly designed them to have those little bumps around the circumference, which makes removing them easy, especially with high-ceiling recessed fixtures. Our contractor installed generic bulbs that don't have those and sometimes it could take several minutes to unscrew them. We've now replaced all of those with this GE product.

Just for the record, I purchased the Phillips brand and they were worse. They did not even screw into the socket properly. I purchased three and none were okay. I was excited that the GE actually worked. How sad is that?

Two of the six bulbs didn't work! To get a replacement you have to mail broken light bulbs! Such a hassle. No one to complain to as well. No one to email and ask for two bulbs to be replaced. I'm wasting fossil fuels on mailing two broken bulbs. Stupid.
DO NOT ORDER THESE! FIND A LOCAL HARDWARE STORE WITH GOOD CUSTOMER SERVICE! I wish I could get negative stars.
