Ok I read the reviews and I know it has some bad ones and some good ones. First off this is the first "cat toy" my wife and I have ever had. We adopted 2 cats, one being a about 12 pounds and the other a kitten that is growing fast !! We looked at all the pet stores and I was in shock they wanted $200 for their biggest and best, and it wasnt half the size and only had one little "house". The $200 one was shorter and not as many features, like not all the post were scratching post, only one little house and either one or no perches.
I ordered this thing and it was at my house in 3 days. It's heavy ! On the other hand if you have power tools it only takes about 5 mins to put together, if no power then the supplied wrench takes it to about 10 mins.
I have looked at the quality of those $200 dollar pet store ones and this is just as nice, built the same way. I was worried my bigger cat would break it. HAHA they tear up and down this thing like its a race track. Sure it bends and sways, they all do from my research. So far we have had no issues other than the 2 little mice they give you to hang off the sides, yeah my cats tore them apart. Easy enough fix, buy a nice mouse toy and tie it on.
In short my cats love this thing, they play on it, sleep on it and expect attention when you walk by !

We are very pleased with the purchase of this cat tree. It has become the favorite place for all three of our cats to hang out and play on. It is pretty sturdy for normal cats and the only problem I can forsee is that we have one giant (12 pound) cat that likes to sleep on one of the pedestals and it is beginning to sag to one side. My husband is going to fix it this weekend. If the cats you are buying this for are normal size then you have nothing to worry about. If you have a large cat you may want to know (or be) a handyman/woman so that you can shore the tree up (add more support to it). It went together easy and is quite nice to look at.
The price was good and the shipping was on time. I can see why the shipping was a bit on the expensive side because the box was very heavy. I emailed the seller before hand and they promptly responded. I highly recommend this seller.
I've added some photos of our black and white cats playing on it for reference.
February 14, 2013 - This has been a great investment for the pleasure of our cats. One cat spins around on the poles like a pole dancing in a topless bar and the others enjoy climbing all over it. It has held up well after 2+years. I recommend this tree for anyone with cats...they will love it, too!
