I use turmeric a lot. It has great anti-inflammatory properties and adds a lovely color to a lot of different dishes. So I was happy to try this.

I was making another Indian dish, so I used this with some Indian spices on roasted potatoes. That was a really good way to test it out because the potatoes were a fairly neutral base that really allowed me to experience the flavor and to see the color. (Although this has other uses, I tend to stick to using it for cooking.) I found it at least as good as other turmeric I've bought, and it's currently at a great price for an organic item.

This comes packaged in a plastic container. I think it must be vacuum sealed in some way because it almost appeared dented at first but once I removed the inner safety seal, the package became cylindrical again. (There was an inner safety seal under the shaker top and there was also an outer plastic seal.) I think this helped preserve freshness because there was a "packaged on" date of December 2013 on my container. I didn't open it until May 2015 and it still seemed quite fresh. (And of course I have some spice jars in my kitchen -- that I still use -- that are much older than that...)

I wouldn't put too much stock in the nutrition facts panel (which is not required for spices). It would be difficult to eat that much of the container at once! But it is kind of interesting to see what nutrients the various spices are high in. This has a lot iron, which is great if you are vegetarian like I am.

I somehow seriously doubt that 2 grams of this has 382 calories! I don't trust the nutrition facts label at all.
I looked it up, and a few different sources said that 1 tablespoon or pure turmeric had 24 calories. The stars I am deducting are for this, otherwise it is an awesome product.

It has the OneCert Asia organic seal. That's a US based certification agency with offices abroad, including one in Jodhpur,India, where this product originates.
Also, mine does not have an expiration date, only a date of packing, which was Dec 2013. When I opened it, it had an inner seal, and it went POP as air rushed in, so it seemed to be at least somewhat vacuum sealed. It tastes very fresh, and smells quite fragrant. It seems potent.
It has a peppery sweet taste and gives foods a nice bright yellow color.

I try to include a lot in my diet but also I take it as a supplement. It is possible to make a homemade 'pill' out of this by putting it in a bit of flattened fresh bread, and rolling the bread up and over it, to make a little ball. Or, I have bought bulk gel caps and filled my own pills, it isn't that hard to do and is a bit cost savings, and I find that often they have worked better than ones I've bought. Usually I prefer to just add it to food that I eat.

Turmeric REALLY helps with inflammation, and it is full of anti-oxidants. It has helped me a lot to add it to my diet. It is great in macaroni and cheese, and many cheese dishes, and soups, and rubs.

needing a taste kick! Sandwiches, eggs, potato salad, mashed potatoes, French fries, and soups! Be careful! It stains cheap countertops YELLOW!

I was in need of some organic turmeric powder to refill my spice jar, because we cook with turmeric regularly & we love it on our fresh popped popcorn. Turmeric powder is very versatile with great taste. I also use it for skin care, it is amazing as a face mask & for teeth whitening. I also use it mixed in poultices on wounds to stop bleeding. Turmeric is amazing. And this one by Vedica Organics has a great, superb fresh taste!
One of my favorite dishes using turmeric powder is to make a homemade version of yellow rice using it, add turmeric to chicken salad or egg salad, add to deviled eggs, add to fresh veggie juices & smoothies, the uses go on & on. Be healthy & have great tasting foods. I received this discounted product in exchange for providing an unbiased review.

Seems like everyone is into turmeric these days. You can buy it by the ounce, pound or capsule. I like this particular organic turmeric powder but think it is currently overpriced. It is securely packaged in a sealed plastic jar with a dispensing cap and screw top and since the powder is vibrant in color and I want it to stay that way, I have transferred mine into a glass jar and keep it in a cabinet. The powder tastes very good and blends well with other spices for assorted curry blends. There are currently a number of organic turmeric powders available and this one is fine. Vedica Organics provided a sample for review at an extremely reduced cost.

Turmeric is a magic potion. I use raw organic turmeric in my smoothies in the morning. We use turmeric powder in many dishes ranging from lentil soup to Rasam or Sambhar. Turmeric has great medicinal values. This product has great flavor as well. This package from Vedica Organics is very good and packed well. A sample was sent to me for review.
