I specifically bought this receiver to play my MP3s from an SD card. It works great and looks good. I didn't buy it for the tuner, but I was pleasantly surprised by the FM tuner's very good sensitivity. I like the blue back-lit buttons. Unlike some receivers, all of the controls make sense and are easy to use. It is obviously built-cheap-to-sell-cheap, but, IMHO this is one of the rare cases where you actually get MORE than you pay for!
OPERATIONAL NOTES: The internal lighting can NOT be dimmed so the LCD display might be a little too bright (distracting at night) if the receiver is mounted high in your dash. I fixed this with a piece of the kind of smoked plastic film that clings to anything you put it on without glue and cut to fit the size of the LCD display (without looking close, you can't even tell that it is on there). In some cases and for some uses the bright LCD display will be a highly desirable feature.
It will only random (shuffle) play MP3s when the files are ALL located in the SD card's root directory.
The LCD displays a maximum file count of up to 999, so, for example, MP3 file #1462 will display as 462. This is more of an observation than an issue or complaint.
The animation on the far right of the LCD display is annoying (to me) and can't be turned-off, I fixed this with a small piece of black electrical tape.
The front/rear digital fader control is somewhat course.
INSTALLATION NOTES: In addition to the red power wire, the yellow memory wire MUST be connected to +12v or the receiver will NOT power-up!Read more ›

Let me start by saying I've owned this stereo for three months now and it has not given me trouble. The head unit is very easy to operate and really requires no manual. I was surprised at how light this unit is, but that would be expected since it does not have a CD player built in. Everything works great, from the Auxilary jack to the USB port. No loss in sound quality and the speaker output is descent for the price you pay. This Unit is a great buy for anyone looking for a cheap reliable stereo to replace their factory setup. As stated by other customers the backlight cannot be dimmed and is bright but not distracting. However this may not be true for others. I bought this stereo for my 1996 Honda Civic as the previous owner left me a broken aftermarket one, and I like the 90's look of it, not too flashy or cumbersome. All in all I rate this stereo at 4 out of 5 stars, great price and good simple features.

I installed this in a 2001 Honda Civic. I found a faceplate mount so that I could keep the Honda's original box with door flap. You'll also need to solder up and adapter.
Everything about this radio works great, just as advertised. My biggest complaint is that to display the clock you have to press a button. 9 times out of ten when I glance at the unit I want to see what time it is not what station I'm on. That's a pretty big goof in my opinion.
Other than that it's a good radio.
Edit to add: I lowered my rating from 4 stars to 2 because just a couple of weeks after installing, the Auxiliary Input, (the main reason I bought the thing) went wonky and now only works sporadically. I will have to buy something else now to replace it. Caveat Emptor.

Got it to replace broken stock radio. It's better than I expected. Just a little disappointed I can't get it to fit properly in the dash of 2005 Hyundai Accent. Tried a couple of trim additions but nothing works yet. SDHD card works fine. Input for my cell phone just charges it, doesn't seem to recognize or play the music on my phone. My Sansa MP3 player plays fine though.
UPDATE***I was happy initially but now after 4 months the radio had pretty much stopped working. All was fine then one day I turned on the car and I just got static on all of the stations. Now I have to rip apart the console and pull it out and see what's going on. This does not make me happy. ***
UPDATE#2 I pulled apart dash and don't see anything wrong on my end. Antenna still connected, fuse fine, checked all the possibilities and still nothing but static on radio. Really unhappy. Suggestions on how to fix welcome.

For a price $31 this seems like a steal. You cannot really beat this head unit for the price paid.

Pros:
-You can put mp3's on both an sd card and jump drive.
-There is an auxiliary for your ipod or phone so you can play your music through it.
-You can charge anything that has usb charging on it.
-I was very surprised as the sound quality is as good as head units I have paid 4 times as much for.
-The display is very easy to see even in bright sunlight.

Cons:
-If you put your mp3's into folders you cannot skip between folders as it does not recognize the folders. However it will let you jump 10 tracks at a 10.
-If you have a thumb drive in and are in the middle of a song when you turn the car off and come back in the car it loses what track you are on.
-There is no way to dim the display at night. Although this is not really a problem for me.

Really all in all this is a great head unit and cannot really be beat for $31 dollars.
