    Needed versatile footwear for an upcoming trip across Asia. I'm not normally a sandal guy, so I wanted something that looked more like a regular shoe but with good ventilation for the tropics. I think I made a good choice with these Tevas. I got the brown and they're a nice dark chocolate color; look good with shorts and jeans but you could also wear them with a pair of chinos to a decent restaurant or club and not feel too underdressed. The upper is made of some kind of synthetic leather with a soft lining on the inside. They're very light, only about 10 oz, so good for travel. I normally wear a 9.5 so that's what I ordered. With socks on they're just a little tight, but that's ok since I wanted to be able to wear them with and without socks, in hot and cold weather. The lacing system works well and cinches up tight. They feel like you could run without them flopping around. They go on and off pretty easy. Decent arch support. The tread feels nice and grippy and the footbed is made of some dense foam rubber that absorbs no water, which is what I wanted since they'll probably get wet. I can't really find anything wrong with them so far. The only question is durability, but Teva has a good rep for that. Good value.

    I ordered the Abbett sandals along with Teva Omnium and Keen Newport H2 sandals. I was looking for something good in rainforest hikes and in the $60-70 range. I kept the Abbetts. The Newports were comfortable but they are a big sandal. Heavy and wide but otherwise seemed ok. The Omniums were good as well and I liked the strap in system and the overall appearance better than the Abbetts. The only issue is they were too high around my outside ankle and rubbed against my ankle bone. I haven't had that issue with any other shoe. The Abbetts are the lightest and most compact of the 3. They are comfortable and fairly easy to get on and off while still managing to stay on during use.

    I love these and they support my cranky feet very well. I'm a woman with wide feet and a men's 8.5 is perfect for me--same size i wear in Keens. I'm very disappointed in the lacing system, i have it on other shoes and love it! On these shoes the plastic sliders/fasteners on the laces are locked in position and can't be moved no matter how they are pinched. Perhaps that is why some people report being unable to get their feet in. I ordered a replacement lace from a 3rd party.

    update: Rather than return these because of non-functioning fasteners, I purchased replacement stretchy laces and fasteners. The original laces, I discovered, were glued to the loop at the toe end of the shoes. It was difficult to extract the old laces from that loop and some of the other oops were narrower than expected and required stretching the material with an awl. I'd love to order another pair but won't replace the laces again. They will be returned if the fasteners are not working.

    I am never disappointed with Teva. I love everything about the shoe. It takes a couple days of wear to break in. Initially the felt too small at the toe but they have a smaller profile. Once they break in, they feel great. Because they are teva, I know they will last.

    I typically wear a 13 but this one seemed a bit on the short side, my toe was rubbing on the front. I exchanged it for a 14 and that fit great. I've only had it for about a week now but it's proving to be quite comfortable.

    These fit well, but are hard to put on (because of the inner lip crumpling up) - may be based on high arch foot. Aside from that, you just feel every little piece of that shoe - not comfortable unless you wear socks perhaps?!

    Also, construction uses rather narrow lacing compared to other products, thus leaving its long term durability in question. Either way, its going back.
