This blender is powerful, and it did make high quality smoothies like you'd expect from a blendtec or other highend commercial. However, after about 20 smoothies it broke. The blades spin but no longer blend. I did a little sleuthing and apparently this is a common defect having to do with the cast iron bit that turns the blades. Now I'm looking for my local waring repair place which is several cities away.

Very powerful blender. Makes terrific smoothies. Less expensive than Vitamix 750 model, and is a professional unit. I got it to replace a Kitchenaid PROline model I bought in 2005; this is so much better. Have seen them in cafes that serve smoothies; and in bars.
