the exact atf for volvo

i flush this oil every 30k , this trans is the weak point of a volvo. using the upper radiator cooling/ return line.just remove line and insert clear vinyl 9/16 " hose.i mark off a gallon jug at 2 qts, start car and pump out 2qts,shut off. refill 2 fresh qts at dipstick.restart and pump out 2 more, shut off and repeat till you use 12 qts. you have replaced exactly what you pumped out. trans takes about 1/2 hour of driving to totally heat up, recheck level at idle ,only point you are interested in is the high / hot mark.takes about 20 mim to flush out, your trans will be happy and shift like new. this atf is the exact spec for this car, any other brand or type and you will have issues. for the cost and availability of this oil this should be a no brainer for long car life. mobil 3309 is the best. my car is a 2007 volvo v 70 wagon fwd, if your volvo does not have a transmission dipstick, you cannot flush out this way. your system is closed and must be serviced with drainage tools.

It is what it is, Toyota transmission fluid!

After doing some research, I found that Mobil makes this ATF 3309 for Toyota, which Toyota then puts there own label on the bottle, and sells it for MORE! So you save about $1.60 per quart by buying this case from Amazon. My 2006 Toyota Matrix uses 4 quarts of ATF fluid for a drain and refill, so I will be doing this 3 times over the next years. Plus....free shipping with Amazon! Winning!

Buy this instead of Toyota Type IV

I've been buying Toyota Type IV from Toyota dealers for a decade. Then came across the Mobil 3309 a year ago. It looks and smells like the exact Toyota fluid. Even the plastic bottle texture pattern is exactly the same. (Just different colors: The Toyota came in black bottle with red cap.)

I do two drain-n-fills on both of our vehicles each year. 207K miles on mine and 196K miles on my wife's. It's been almost a year, no issue with the transmissions.

Used this in my 2007 Toyota Corolla, I bought a whole case as this was cheaper than I could buy 6 quarts anywhere else I looked. The manual in my car says the transmission fluid does not need to be changed under normal driving conditions, but that did not make sense to me, so I changed it anyway. There was a lot of gunk in there, and the fluid was a brown color, so I'm glad I did it.

Volvo transmission fluid

The correct transmission fluid for 2004 Volvo 70XC, but be sure to check your owners manual. Shipping was quick, but expensive. Cannot find this fluid locally except for the more expensive Volvo labeled fluid. Easy to change about 3.5 quarts. Refill through dipstick.

Just what the doctor ordered

My 2003 SAAB 9-3 2.0t was having some occasional slippage when shifting, from 2nd to 3rd mostly, and I decided it was time for a transmission flush. It had 198k miles on it so it was time for it anyways. I emptied out the pan, put in four quarts of this stuff, ran it for a bit, emptied it again, another fresh 4 quarts, and off I went. Hasn’t slipped a beat since. Definitely worth the purchase, and I have no doubt in Mobile 1 products.

Quality replacement fluid for Volvo at low cost

This is top quality ATF fluid for many Volvos made since year 2000.
Mobil says it is a direct replacement for the OEM fluid in Volvo, Audi, etc.
Volvo charges $18 per liter of their ATF and this is about $5.50 on Amazon.
I have used this fluid since early 2009 on a 2002 V70 with no issues.
Mobil knows oil and when they say it works, it works. I use about 9 quarts
for a fluid change using the upper hose on the radiator cooler.

Volvo says the ATF fluid in your car is lifetime fluid. Many years ago the
tech at the dealership told me to ignore that advice and change the ATF
fluid every 40,000 miles. Transmission repair on these cars is well over $2500.
I follow his advice.
