This is the second Life Stages crate I have bought. They are working out so far. I have two 6-month old, 60 lb German Shepherd puppies. They are fairly well-behaved---so far. The crates seem strong enough. I'm not sure sure how a 100+ lb. berserk dog would do in it, but it works for me. Pay attention to the crate size and wire rating when you buy. Fast delivery from this company.

I purchased this crate for a mid sized 60 lb dog to take on camping trips in our teardrop camper. She (Tia) is crated normally during the day while I am at work and is very good about using a crate. This crate is very easy to set up and I had it out of the box and set up in about 5 minutes. It is well constructed and although Tia is very comfortable in a crate I have no doubt the sturdy construction and door latching mechanism will hold even if she wanted out to get at her arch nemesis (Mr. Squirrel) I would definitely recommend this crate for any mid size dog owner.

I purchased this over the other cages and I'm pretty happy with the upgrade. The 30" cage has a nice locking mechanism that doesn't look like my pet could easily get stuck in. It feels decently made and looks nice. The edges of the cage and bars are all buffed and rounded, so nothing is sharp. I move the cage upstairs and downstairs occasionally, and I'm pretty happy that there's nothing sharp and I can grab it anywhere.

I think the big difference is just the locking mechanism. Mine came with a tiny lock and an extra divider for training. The locking mechanism on this one lifts the whole front gate up to release it so it would be really hard for an animal to open it. It's a lift and then swing mechanism. The cage door also doesn't flex much at the edges, so you don't have to worry about your pet pushing it open and somehow getting their little head stuck in there. With a few small locking rings you could eliminate all the flex in the door and the pet would have to break the entire wall of the cage apart (unlikely). I honestly think that's really un-necessary though especially if you have a small dog because the default mechanism works nicely.

I have a small dog, and I'm using this to crate train him. I don't think he could ever possibly force his way through it because of his size, but I was concerned with other cage reviews about safety. I think this cage is a good choice / upgrade over the other cages.

Oh, I LOVE this crate, and so does my pug! We had previously bought her not one, but TWO of those cloth folding camping crates, thinking she would like the softer environment better than a "cage" when she needed to be crated.

Guess what we learned?

Puppies have really sharp teeth, and fabric is vulnerable to said teeth. She made some pretty big holes in the doors of those crates. Puppeh does NOT want to be crated, yo!

So I gave up and bought her this crate, which was recommended by Zak George, the energetic puppy trainer on YouTube. He goes on and on about these crates! And now I know why - she freaking LOVES this crate. I mean, it's not a miracle worker, she still complains when she has to go in, but she is so much less freaked out about it, and she seems more relaxed and happy n there, where she can see out every single possible angle. When we first set it up, she happily walked in and sniffed around, and she happily plays in it as long as the door is open.

Lesson learned!

It's also really easy to unfold and fold, it pops together easily but also really securely, it's MUCH easier to clean - SO MUCH EASIER. And there is that little divider that can make it cozier as she grows, had we the foresight to just get this one in the first place. Oh, and it was CHEAPER than either of those other two crates, which we got USED from Craigslist. NO LIE.

This crate is a win.

I love this crate. This is actually my dog's second crate of this variety. He started growing out of his smaller one, so we went up to the 36." It is well-constructed, and I love the double doors. I like that I do not have the bend down or fiddle with anything to open the doors. It's extremely easy to fold up.

This is a great crate for the money. I bought the same brand of crate (a slightly different model) from another supplier and paid $129 for it. This is a good deal. It arrived promptly and was easy to assemble. The doors do not have a sliding bar lock, but rather the entire door lifts up and then gets pushed down onto several hooks to fasten it. I didn't realize this at the time I ordered. No matter, though, as the doors work just fine.

Crate arrived ahead of my expectations. The mechanics of the entrance points work wonderfully. Also the divider can be placed at multiple points... perfect for my new tiny puppy.

I would refer this crate to anyone

I have the 24" crate by Midwest (8,208 cubic inches) and love it--my maltipoo puppy uses the divider now for coziness. I wanted a smaller crate (18" is 3,024 cubic inches) to use in traveling and thought since my puppy was 2 lbs, this would be OK for short periods. It was just obvious that she would grow out of it very quickly so I ordered a 22" (4,576 cubic inches) after doing the math. This is a good quality crate--just make sure your dog is very tiny and will remain so. My dog will get to be around 5-10 lbs and this would not allow her to stand up or turn around easily, etc.
