I liked the show, but unfortunately Amazon removed it from Prime Instant and now wants $1.99 per episode. Call me cheap, but I would not pay $2 for any single episode of any TV show.

Price of Prime going up. Content going down. Seems like customer value is eroding.

I greatly enjoy watching Anthony Bourdain's No Reservations series. Though I do not get to travel internationally, I am allowed to live vicariously through his adventures, learning more about different cultures through their food while drooling over (most) of what Tony gets to go eat. The show strikes a good balance between exploring the food and talking about the culture in which the food evolved. Tony's generally an entertaining narrator and sometimes runs with some interesting personalities in the location he's visiting.

The only negative aspect of the show is that watching it frequently makes me hungry and sad that I am not capable of cooking the food I am seeing. It also makes me want to buy expensive copper or earthenware cooking containers and go build a wood-fired stove in the backyard.

Anthony Bourdain is my favorite travel show host. What truly sets him apart from others whose shows have a similar format is the respect and apparent appreciation he has for the diverse cultures and countries that he visits. Even when he dislikes something he eats or cracks a joke, there is not the usual condescending tone that other hosts of other travel food shows I've seen have. He is respectful, but honest. His humor is my kind of humor, but is probably a bit too salty for small children at times. The parental discretion advisory at the beginning of each episode should be more than enough warning though. I have not viewed a single episode I did not like. I highly recommend this show to food and travel fans, and generally anyone really. Well, maybe not vegans. There is a lot of pork eating.

I like him, he gets around and on this series. He expands his touring to include political and social movements within a country, which is interesting, coming from his perspective. I checked out three restaurants in San Francisco he recommended; one was fantastic (Tadich Grill) one was a total dud (That's It-unfriendly chicanos, hot, stuffy drug store-who needs it?) and one was too crowded and my stomach couldn't wait. (R&G Lounge in Chinatown.)

I only got the Sardinia episode because my roommate was traveling there and we wanted to see what the food might be like. He unfortunately did not encounter the fun-filled blood bag, but other than that it was spot on. Anthony Bourdain's commentary is excellent as always.

Anthony Bourdain's travels are the way we like to see the world. No tours, no 5 star restaurants but delicious food, interesting people and insight into what to try when traveling to these destinations. Definitely a series to watch for the world traveler.

Watch the Montana episode just to see Jim Harrison. This episode is what I believe No Reservations is about, showing the world from disgruntled food based point of view. Outside of the Ozarks episode this is one of my favorite.

We recently returned from a trip to Paradise Valley, Montana and so bought this season so we could watch the episode when Tony was there. He really seemed to capture what that part of the country is all about. Great show!
