Item received was not at all as pictured. It did NOT have curved tips and was covered in machine oil. It measures only 4" long.

Update:
The company immediately contacted me regarding the item and sent out a replacement at no charge that is exactly as pictured.

I am very happy with these scissors. I use them when I do machine embroidery. The curved tip makes it very easy for me to reach around the pressure foot and clip the threads without worrying that I may snip my project. They are a bit heavier than a brand that I had purchased previously, thus sturdier.

I love these scissors. I have two pairs. One for my embroidery machine and one for my regular sewing machine. They are light weight and easy to use to trim threads. I highly recommend them.

Well, you get what you pay for. I have a pair similar to this from Dr. Slick. I love them. I wanted another pair to go in my travel bag (I use them for sewing). I guess I didn't realize I chose the "curved" blades--my bad! However, my Dr. Slicks said they were 4.5" and they are MUCH bigger than these. Also these don't feel as sturdy in my hands. They feel a little flimsy. The blades are much more pointy at the ends than what is shown in the picture. This really doesn't work for me. Maybe the picture is the straight ones? In any case, since I didn't spend very much on them, it wasn't worth sending them back. I'll keep them, but I went ahead and ordered another pair of Dr. Slick's. Twice the amount of money, but I've learned my lesson. Pay Attention and just order the item you really want--and not what's on sale. However, let me be clear. These are good scissors considering what I paid for them.

Lightweight and very handy. I use both kinds -- with the hooked blade and without -- and love them. Sometimes you need the hook to pull a thread, other times you want that sharp pointed blade, and between the two kinds, you won't need (or want) any other snips.

Pros: -- lightweight, gets in tight places, can maneuver around presser feet and straight pins.
Cons -- when the blades dull, you're done and you need a new set. Even the sharpener guy up at JoAnn's won't bother with them. I always have a spare set of both types (hooked blades and curved blades) on hand as backups, because when they go, they go. As long as you're prepared with backups, the con is irrelevant, so I still give them 5 stars.

These pretty much suck! They barely even cut thread nicely, let alone cutting any fabrics on my embroidery projects! Wish I hadn't cheaped out and just went ahead and bought the name brand for a few dollars more because now I've spent this and still have to go ahead and buy the name brand! Sometimes saving a buck ends up costing you more it the long run and this is one of those times! :( Disappointed in my purchase!

I've ordered 3 pairs of these so far and the first and third pair were great. The second didn't cut as smoothly, almost as the metal was grinding against itself. They're pretty great for trimming fabrics off my appliques for machine embroidery and you can't beat the price.

I purchased a pair of these snips years ago when I first got started in machine embroidery and I was heartbroken when I lost them during a move. These are good quality, sharp, the angle is perfect for getting close to the fabric even under other stitches. I'm thrilled with this purchase!
