After reading all the raving reviews for these blocks I was excited to order some. This is totally not what I was expecting at all. I'm not sure what people expect from a "firm" block but these are nowhere near the quality of my real yoga blocks. If I can squeeze it with my hand and see it squish that is not firm!
After a disappointing first impression I thought I'd try them out in a couple of poses that are no problem for my other blocks. These offered hardly any stability and would actually be dangerous to use in a studio setting. I would not use these with any of my students. The only way I could see these being used would be to have them flat on their lowest level without using it to support or stabilize the body, like maybe to hold up a knee in bound angle pose.
Now I am an adult guy that's well over six feet tall, and not a young whispy flexy--bendy yoga girl, so I understand that I'm going to cause a little more force to be exerted on these guys than others might. People of all shapes and sizes do yoga. However if you are of any size and you want to make sure you are well supported in poses so you don't hurt yourself, then do yourself a favor and purchase a higher quality block. If your block gives at all it is no good for you! Send it back!
Basically you are getting what you pay for. Two blocks for a low price equals two cheap and unstable blocks. I'll be sending these back asap.
