Bought this to try out along with the Ultra blue. While Ultra Blue gives off a great glow after a short charging time, even after a long charge under direct light, the Purple has a VERY dim glow. In a completely dark room it is barely visible.
This may be black-light reactive, no way for me to check it at the present time. But would not use for applications that need an actual glow in the dark.

I am a big fan of the Glow Inc. phosphorescent powders and paints, but was leery of trying the purple powder because I knew it was much weaker than the green or blue and that it required ultraviolet light to charge (sunlight, black light, strong fluorescent light). I was afraid either the glow would be too weak to notice or else would fade very quickly. The paint, for example, charges nicely under a black light, but fades away within a couple of minutes.

The purple glow surpassed my expectations (which were low, admittedly) -- but not at first. When I opened the box from Amazon, the first thing I did was place the powder under a black light. I saw a pale violet glow with some blue speckles, like other reviewers described, but it was very faint. Underwhelming, right? But, I went ahead and added some to epoxy resin to make jewel shapes. When I unmolded the shapes today, they were glowing pure violet, even in the light (sunlight through glass, which blocks UV-B, but not UV-A). I found my phone and a dark place and eventually took this picture (so, they had been glowing about 5 minutes). In the picture, you can see a blue-green glow. That's a ring that uses one of the brighter pigments. As you can see, when it's freshly charged, the purple is quite bright.

I put the jewels on the table so I could keep an eye on them. In ordinary light, after being charged, they remain a pale lilac color from the glow. Before they were charged they were transparent to slightly white.

So, here are some points to keep in mind. (1) Purple is not going to be as bright or long-lasting as green, aqua, or blue. That's the nature of the pigment and also due to the color sensitivity of your eyes. (2) Purple requires short wavelength light to glow.

The purple glow powder I received was a complete dud, it had zero glow ability. It is strange because the green and the blue glow in the dark powders from Glow Inc are awesome! I don't know if I received a bad batch or what but I had to return it.

From white, red, green and purple powders, this is the weaker; but still good. I had to try as many types possible.

This color just would not glow bright at all.
I left it next to a lamp for a couple of minutes but still only got a dim glow. The green I also bought was very bright though.

Gray dust with tiny green, glowing specs. Not in any way purple . Don't waste your money on this. The other colors are great. This one is not.
