In the 35 years I have served in the military and as a police officer, I have used just about every weapons cleaner and lubricant on the market. BALLISTOL and MIL-COMM-TW25B GREASE are the best in their class for cleaning and protecting weapons systems.

What I like about BALLISTOL is it's 2 in 1 approach. It cleans and leaves a protective coating all at the same time which prevents the need to use two different products. What is of great importance, especially if you are working in a dry dusty climate, is that BALLISTOL does not leave the weapon with a heavy oil that attracts dirt and dust.

With Ballistol, TIME IS YOUR FRIEND. Spray your action and barrel down, THEN LET IT SIT FOR 5-10 minutes. Give it time to clean before you begin to brush out the action and barrel.

After cleaning with ballistol you will notice that your weapon has a very light protective coating that will last until your weapon needs to be cleaned again.

HICKOCK45 (of YouTube fame) has used Ballistol for years and this is a guy who shoots thousands upon thousands of rounds a month. This is who I found out about Balistol from. I tried it for the first time many years ago and have never used anything since other than the MIL-COMM-TW25B when a heavier grease is needed for some of the full auto weapons systems.

Ballistol is hard to find in some areas so if you find a local source, consider yourself lucky.
