Tranquility

I enjoy the tones and serenity of these melodies. I am new to this genre of music. I became interested in the culture of Japan after a visit to Sendai, Yamagata and Tokyo and I am exploring all that I can learn. I know Yo Yo Ma is a revered artist and that the quality is inherent in the production of this album. I love to listen to it just to relax and enjoy, being a retired teacher allows me to do that.

Beautiful in a rather unexpected way for western ears.

I have treasured this album for years. I have reluctantly loaned it to friends who never seem to want to return it...hard to blame them. It just has a really fascinating beauty that is beyond my ability to fully articulate. A really different and worthwhile diversion along your musical journey...rather minimalistic, wish Amazon had samples so you could hear it.
