First off I would have to say to people looking at this item to save a few bucks and to purchase JUST the batteries. The charger it comes with is a cheap Chinese thing that claims an output of "DC 4.2V and 650mAh". That's not too bad if it was true. Opening the device up, the first thing I notice is that there isn't even a full bridge rectifier circuit for the mains power (my first insight about just how cheap the charger is). Inside I also find an HT3582D chip at the heart of the charging circuit. Looking at the datasheet for this chip, I notice that it can only handle a max output of 400mA, and 250mA nominal (far from the 650mAh on the back of the charger). So I put this to a test on some test equipment I have. With just one battery in, there is a constant 57mA draw from the battery to just light that little LED on it (which stays on all the time by the way). When charging, it starts out supplying about 500mA at 4.2V. and quickly drops to ~440mA. The chip inside heats up rapidly (measured 170 degrees F) which is probably why the current decreases (and also since the chip is way above it's maximum). I find it kind of comical that the brand of this chip is "HotChip" haha! Avoid using the charger if you care about not burning down your house.

Now to the batteries,
From the factory, they all came charged to about 3.82V. This is fine as a storage voltage. Before even charging them, I wanted to see what capacity they had. I set a cutoff voltage of 3V at a 500mA current draw. Batt 1 had 1.311Ah capacity, Batt 2 had 1.285Ah capacity. Not too bad! I now wanted to see what the charger it came with (complete junk) could do with charging them. I let them charge for about 14 hours from my previous discharge measurements. I bought these for some LED flashlights, and several had a partial charge when shipped. However, the supplied charger does not work with the batteries. The light stays green, whether a battery is inserted or not. The batteries are now dead, and don't charge in the supplied charger or another much nicer charger that I subsequently acquired. And the worst thing is that they are out of the return window, so into the trash they go. Out of dozens of Amazon purchases I've made, this one is by far the worst.

The battery life is reasonable but the charger is terrible!! It take about 48 hours to charge the batteries!! That is a ridiculous amount of time! I am not exaggerating about the time. I will plug them in the morning, and the night will pass, the next morning will pass and it still won't be done charging. That night they still won't be ready until the next morning comes. I have charged the batteries a Handful of times and it always takes two days to charge. Yesterday morning I plugged in the charger and batteries and right now they are still not done charging and won't be until tomorrow. I am only using the charger because I need the batteries but it is ridiculous to have to wait two days for batteries to charge. I am not trying to charge an electric car! It should not take such a ridiculous amount of time to charge two small batteries

These came very quickly and were already charged. I just tested them today. No problems and they light up the flashlight/torch I bought very nicely.

They were packed very well. Made it quickly, work just fine. One battery per torch and I have four. No worries. No disappointments!

This is my first set of 18650 rechargeables, so I don't really have a benchmark. I only bought them to go with the $10 "1000 lumen" light I also bought on here. So far they work great. As previously stated they will come partially charged (3.7-3.8 volts) and will take a full 8 hours or more to completely charge (4.2-4.3 volts). Not really issue here, you're getting 4 batteries. Unless you're running 4 lights simultaneously or one light that takes 4 batteries, you'll always have a charged battery for your light while one or two are charging.

True rating much lower and charger only charges these batteries and no other brand...not sure why. On a TK75 only lasts about 20 minutes on Turbo before dropping down brightness (the drop in brightness is due to battery life and not heat dissipation).

TangsFire is an efficient brand as it incorporates a product warning right into its corporate name. Recently, I started smelling fumes after just a few minutes. When I checked the charger, it was overheating dangerously. I was just on my way out of the house. Had I not detected the fumes, it is quite likely that I wouldn't have a had a house to return to. The potential for fire is so great, that I felt a need to leave this review as a warning to others.
