This kit came from Cameta Camera in New York. I had occasion to contact them due to a shipping issue; the person who answered the phone spoke flawless English (a rarity in today's American Business "Customer Service") and couldn't have been nicer or more helpful in resolving the issue.

The kit itself was very good and provided the accessories I needed to get up and running with this camera. The lens shipped is outstanding and versatile, a thousand dollar value on its own, and the D7100 is easily living up to all the positive reviews I've read about it. The kit lens is large enough, however, to cast a shadow on your image if you use the built-in flash.

Which brings me to the one disappointment and the reason I'm giving the kit 4 stars instead of 5. The external flash that's included is too basic for the camera. It's a little like putting retreads on a Ferrari; they'll work but you can't drive the car anywhere near its potential. I bought the Nikon SB-700 separately and have put the kit flash in a drawer as a backup. Considering the price as-is, I wouldn't mind paying extra to have a full-featured flash included instead of paying for the one that currently ships with the kit.

*** Update ***

Having had occasion to use the tripod I've found that it's too flimsy for this kit. The camera/lens combination makes for substantial weight. Mounting it on the kit tripod made the setup top heavy to the point that I was concerned that a gust of wind might knock it over.

The camera and lens are proving to be outstanding.

In retrospect, buying the camera, lens, and then the accessories separately would have been a better value than this particular kit.

Camera is Awesome! Has Tons of features I love, and will use!

The package:

1.The kit comes with 2 lenses, One has a pouch, the other does not. but that is ok. Both Lenses are great!

2.The SD card reader is not what was shown, But I like the one I got better. Its smaller, more compact, I do wish there was a USB cap over the USB port, but all in all I like it alot. It came self packaged in a hard plastic case and it also has a slot for a mini SD card.

3. The Tripod is great, I dont care for the mounting piece though, its plastic and feels Cheap, but it works great. I love it. I will be using this a lot.

4. The package came with 2 UV filters, Love them, The moment i opened everything up I put the Filters right on, and they work great

5. The Remote: I actually already have one of these, and although its great, im not really impressed by it. I have used it several times and its really not practical. You have to point it right at the camera, the only thing it can do is trigger to take the picture, it cant focus, or anything else for that matter, and it is hit and miss.

6. SD card Holder, This is great, not to big, not to small, wish I had 2-3 more of these. It holds 8 SD chips, or 6 SD chips and it has 2 inserts to hold Mini SD chips. Great product, with I had more of them.

7. The flash. Is a Cheap Manual, non-digital Flash. Its the difference between having a modern day cell phone and a Rotary Phone, and if you dont know what a Rotary phone is, its that phone that your great grand parents or grand parents had that you put your finger in each on of the numbers, turn the number back to zero, then move on to your next number to dial. LOL

It is my first DSLR camera and you cannot buy the body only, you must have a couple of devices. Everything included is awesome products EXCEPT the screen protector which was lost in the first day besides the work and bubbles when I was placing it.
The bag is excellent and fits everything which comes with the kit plus another lense. Also the bag is original from Nikon.
The battery extra is very handling and I liked the extra charger which has support to international outlets and has car adapter. The memory card is a great one to store your memories and with reasonable storage space and writing speed. The cleaning kit is awesome and has everything you need to mantain your lenses and camera, the remote control is another important device to take picture of yourself and those pictures from the tripod without shaking, you will use it a lot! The tripod is perfect size for travel and comes with a bag to carry it. The hdmi cable is another required to show it on tv and you really need since the display is small to give you all picture details. The flash is very basic, I have been happy with the built-in but you will need it to cover wedding and other events. Finally the lense is original from Nikon and the right size to carry it on your adventures, the 300mm is too big, 18-200mm you cover 90% of your needs. I recomend you just add a fish eye lense and a 35mm or 50mm to make your camera lighter. The filter is very important in order to protect your lenses against accident and also it is easier to clean a filter than a camera. Finally the wallet to store memory cards it is handy even though I am not using it since the camera comes with 2 slots which for me it is more than enough storage.
