I have used Kyocera Ceramics for several years, and been totally satisfied.
Once you learn how, (and how not,) to use them, you will be a happy camper!
Have not had to send one back for sharpening... Never got the chance, 'cause "someone" would try to pry apart frozen meat, or drop it on a hard surface, and it would shatter...
Ceramic is a super hard, friable material, and it must be treated as such.
If you want a surgical tool for slicing vegetables and thawed, boneless meat; this is the way to go.
If you want a meat cleaver, or an ice pick, you should stick to Chicago Cutlery...

First of all these are ceramic knives and as such should be treated right. Only soft food and boneless meat. Ceramic is a very hard material, it does not bend and if you do something other than cutting soft food or boneless meat it will break and or chip. Ceramic knives are extremely light. They come with very clear instructions. Having said all of the above, the set I received is a made-up set sold by Cutleryandmore.com. It has al the three knives described but comes in two different boxes. One box brings the Santoku and pairing knives and the other box brings the chef knife. The box with the Santoku and pairing knives a beautiful and elegant box. The "box" with the chef knife is a plastic one. This are excellent knives if used and cared for properly.

Largest knife of the 3 broke in half cutting an apple. I was informed by the seller that the item was no longer available for return and that was that apparently.

Not happy with this product. I recommend the Swiss Army version (Victorinox Ceramic Knives) vs. this knife. It's more expensive but I guess you get what you pay for.

Actually bought this set for my son!
These knives by Kyocera are the best you can buy.
They come in wonderful colors....I prefer the ones with white blades....and they
stay sharp forever. Plus, they are ceramic, so no rusting or dulling.

If you have not tried these, buy a single knife....you will be hooked!

Feel so nice in the hands... cuts wonderfully great... Just don't hit any one and always use a cutting board of wood or plastics.... no class, marble, or any hard surfaces as this will damage the very hardened edge.

Our first ceramic knife set with no major complaints. After reading the handling instructions, we are very careful by not putting it in the dishwasher or by properly cutting certain types of food. The larger knife shows a little bit of chemical residue; so that after washing thoroughly, the sharp end side still looks "oily." Overall, performance is exactly as described.

Kyocera knives are the best! Although you cannot use it on hard items - frozen foods, crushing garlic cloves, etc. You still need a steel knife. These knives can last a long time without sharpening - fortunately a local store here takes the knives and gets them sharpened at Kyocera for no cost.

Great knives! They are so sharp and light-weighted, my wrist never feel tired again.
My mom uses the same black knife everyday for 7 years, and it remains sharp and looks new. But white knives have abrasions after a while. Black knives are harder than white ones.
