So far, I have received 2 MHL 1.0 EPL-3FHUBE adaptors inside a MHL 2.0 ET-H10FAUWEGWW box (via ebay) and 2 MHL 2.0 adaptors that have both worked beautifully (at least until I broke my first one). All of them came with a snap-on ferrite core to reduce magnetic/electrical interference.

I have tried both the ET-H10FAUWEGWW (via ebay) and ET-H10FAUWESTA (via Samsung's website) and both of them have the same model number stamped on the unit itself and use the same UPC/EAN#: 8806085519558.

The box from Samsung has a holographic sticker on it that none of the others had, saying Samsung Original Mobile Enhancement and it was the only one without a plastic tray.

With my Samsung S4, I am getting crystal clear 1920x1080 60Hz edge to edge display (with no over/under scan) on my home made 15.6" 1920x1080 monitor as well as our Samsung TV set via an HDMI cable.

HDMI to DVI has been a particularly difficult challenge with MHL 1.0. However with this MHL 2.0 adaptor, I am getting the same 1920x1080 60Hz signal on both my Flatron W2246 and Dell U2212HM.

I can also listen to the sound via the phone's headphone jack while it is plugged in (since monitors do not have speakers).

I have not needed to provide power to the adaptor. There is a micro usb port for power, but I have not needed to use it (unless I want to charge my phone).

Nowhere on the box does it specifically say it is for MHL 2.0, but the description on various websites say that this is the main reason for this adapter's existance.

Note that it is designed for Samsung's 11pin micro MHL 2.0 pin configuration, which I do believe that no one else is using yet. Which means it is for the Samsung Note II, S3 and S4 and that is about it right now.Read more ›

I just received this in the mail and followed the directions to connect my galaxy s4 to my vision hd Tv and now I'm watching a movie from my phone. couldn't be more pleased. I had a similar cable for my s2 that had some glitches but this one is far better. I'm not sure why others are having issues with it. I'm very happy with my purchase. 10 stars!!!!

Works perfectly for me since only a dingbat would want to drain their S4 to watch a full movie.
My S4 never loses battery power when plugged into this adapter.
OMG! You have to plug into a wall socket?? OMG! LOL.
If you want a better adapter...... Fly off to Mars. I hear they have better S4 HDMI HDTV adapters there. :-)

BTW, My adapter had a hologram on the box....

It works fine just as the origional i mean i guess its good for what u pay but it is most definately NOT legit samsung....i compared it to the origional samsung one i have (from best buy) and its made of much cheaper material it literally feels like a toy...verry light and feels like it would breal really easy....it looks almost identical ALMOST the port for the charging cable to go in is on the wrong side and the piece that connects to the tablet is slightly bigger also the big piecw that connects to the hdmi cable is very extremely light compared to the origional one also lettering is upride down and its darker then the origional ones lettering...the one on the left that looks slightly chewed by my noughty puppy and a tad warn is the origional one....the one on the right that looks a little more white is the fake one....like i said it works fine not much of a difference on how it works but i dont like people claiming their products are real when their clearly not.....i mean i was pretty upset seeing as how i asked them if it was legit or not before i bought it and then recieved a fake one but again for the price ur paying i guess its fine thats a little under half of what i payed for the origional....hope this helps

If you own the S4 for business, this is a must have. Think about that time you wised you could see that attachment and actually read it. With this little unit and a HDMI cable, you can on any TV and see the info you need.

The device works as stated in the description. The device is also backwards compatible so even if your phone is MHL 1 compatible, it'll still work with less resolution.

For the reviews complaining that the MHL adapter still needs power, I'll quote a comment from XDA developers forum

This is my guess as well. I haven't tried it yet, but it is true that any MHL adapter needs power of some sort. In the case of MHL 2.0, it is capable of being powered by the screen/TV/whatever ... but only if the display supports providing that power back to the MHL adapter. If it doesn't support this, you'll be forced to attach a power adapter to your MHL adapter.

But the 2.0 will still have 1080p, so be glad for that.

So there you have it... some TV's are compatible, some are not. But you'll still get the 1080p resolution.
