Adams Flea and Tick Spray kills adult fleas, flea eggs, flea larvae, and ticks. It provides relief from biting fleas and breaks the flea life cycle for up to 2 months. The three active ingredients are: Etofenprox, (S)-Methoprene, and Piperonyl Butoxide.

Q: How do I apply flea and tick sprays?
A: Cover animal's eyes with hand. With a firm, fast stroke to get a proper spray mist, spray the head, ears, and chest until damp. With cloth, rub into face around mouth, nose and eyes. Then spray the neck, middle and hindquarters, finishing legs and tail last. For best penetration of the spray to the skin, direct spray against the natural lay of the hair. On long haired dogs and cats, run your hand against the lay of the hair, spraying the ruffled hair directly behind the hand. Make sure spray thoroughly wets ticks.
Q: Should I bathe pets before or after using Adams pet sprays?
A: We recommend you bathe your pet with an Adams Flea and Tick Shampoo prior to using our pet spray products. Once the shampoo is rinsed off the pet, the residual activity of the insecticidal ingredient is gone, so it's important to follow up with a maintenance product to protect the pet from new fleas emerging from within their cocoons in the infested environment. Pets must be completely dry before the spray application.
Q: What's the difference between pet sprays and flea and tick shampoos?
A: Adams pet sprays can be used as a complement to your pet's regular flea and tick control maintenance program. Pet sprays are applied directly onto the animal to kill and repel fleas and ticks. I received the item sealed in plastic. The nozzle has various markings like off, spray, and drip, and needs to be turned to release the liquid. I like this feature which keeps it from harming children. The smell is the strongest one I have encountered in a long time. I am surprised it can be sold without a prescription. Works great. Within seconds of spraying, ticks emerged from the fur of both my kittens running for safety. It made one of my kittens froth at the mouth after she started grooming herself after I had sprayed her. I am not sure how common this is. I remembered reading in some other reviews that they will froth for a while but will be okay. My kitten recovered after a minute, but it is really painful to see you pet suffering like that. I am removing one star for that. There has to be a better way of killing ticks and fleas.
