Sofia the First has quickly become one of my daughter's favorite shows on Disney Jr. While she still like Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Jake and the Neverland Pirates, Doc Mcstuffins, and The Backyardigans (on Nickelodeon) - Sofia is probably her favorite. I will admit, after purchasing the Sofia the First Magical Talking Castle (and all the problems we have had with it) I was skeptical of the Sofia and Minimus play set. While I am still not convinced that Mattel could not have done a better job - it seems like it is *good enough* to last for awhile.

Notes -

- Sofia requires a small fixture ( which is included) in order to stand. Even with the fixture my daughter has a hard time making her stand on carpet.

- Minimus' wings go up and down when he is raised and lowered - easily the best feature of the toy.

- Neither Minimus or the Sofia that is included interact with the voice box that is included in the Sofia the First magical Taking Castle.

- Sofia's hat falls off almost constantly

- Sofia can not hold onto the reins of Minimus.

- It is kind of difficult to get Sofia locked into place on Minimus - often times the first time Minimus flutters his wings she will get knocked off.

- Finally, while Minimus can stand on hard surfaces he has a very difficult time standing on carpet.

Final Verdict - While I am still disappointed with a couple of the design features of the toy it still brings a smile to my daughter, which is probably the most important aspect of any toy.

If you have a little girl that adores Sofia the First, she will love this toy. The only complaint I have is that Minimus's wings detach ALL the time and my 3 year old asks me to fix it several times per day.

That's the perfect description. As far as sofia toys this one is the best but it still is not great. The doll barely stays on. The wings pop off and Sofia's hat falls off all the time.. My aught er loves it but it requires a lot of y time to keep fixing the toy.

I think it's a little hard to get Sofia on Minimus. Plus his wings keep falling off. The box advertises that his wings flap (the saddle is even a button) but when you read the directions you have to move him up and down to make the wings work. It also states the wings will only flap with Sofia sitting on him. It's really cute, but I'm glad I didn't pay full price for it.

I actually like this toy, the price that I got it for was amazing and the packaging was cute however it is a pain in the butt to separate the toys from the package. I thought the characters were really cute, Sophia is dressed in her riding gear and Minimus although slight plain is made of nice solid material. There is also a waiste holder off of Minimus saddle so Sophia can ride securely during a magic race.

The toy is colorful, but the wings on the horse keep falling off, and the child gets frustrated, Sophia falls off it too. You have to snap her into the "saddle" which is hard for a small child to do and Sophia the character of this toy keeps falling off, The entire toy is just the right size for a toddler of 2-3yrs old, but the fact that the stuff falls of so easily makes the child get mad and throw it on the floor, I do not recommend this toy at all. I'm thinking of crazy gluing the wings so they stay on.
They are supposed to flap, but the flop to the floor. BAD TOY

I was actually excited to give this to my daughter, who is a huge Sofia/Minimus fan.
As soon as I opened the package, I knew we were in for problems.
Sofia is very small (2 1/2" maybe?), which is ok, just be aware that it's a small figure!
Her hat? Constantly falls off. I'm not even sure where the damn thing is now.

Minimus? I was under the impression that you can push the tail and the wings flap, or something like that. Nope. The "flying" part of minimus is when you shake him up and down, forcing his wings to bobble. And then eventually, fall off.
Yeah, the wings come off really easily.
After reattaching them at least 50 times, I glued them on. And then they still broke off. haha

Lastly.. WTF is up with the seat? It looks like it was supposed to do something and then the manufacturer decided not to use that feature. Very strange.

With all that said, my daughter still loves it. As long as dada is there to put the wings back on, all is well.

This was a Christmas gift for my 4 year old daughter. She loves Sofia the First. This is a pretty low quality toy but easy to assemble. The wings come off easy, but they also clip right back on easy enough. I like that there is a clip harness for Sofia so she doesn't fall off the horse, but her hat doesn't stay on. The flapping sings was the biggest disappointment because they don't move much unless you make over dramatic movements up-and-down. Sofia's legs are very loose and swing back and forth with ease, so she won't be standing up at all unless you use the included clip stand, but that seems out of place during play time and has already been lost by my girls. This toy is not worth the $15-20 it often sells for...closer to $10 would be an appropriate price.
