After about a year of searching for dry cat food WITHOUT fish or fowl or FISH OIL or FLAX SEED, This is the only other dry food besides Evanger's Meat Medley that meets those requirements (that I am aware of). All dry foods labeled "hypoallergenic" contain fish oil and flax seed - things cats with severe allergies are allergic to.

For several reasons, I needed to get my cat with severe allergies off canned and back on dry. This NV LID Rabbit must be new because last time I checked NV didn't have the LID dry - They only made canned.

All my cats are attracted to this food. They can smell it and they seek it out. I can't afford to feed five cats $60 food but it may seem I have no choice! So for the product review, this is a good thing.

If you have a cat with severe allergies, whether just food or a combination, try this if nothing else works. It's expensive but 12 pounds is a lot for the price for this special needs food. And if your cat(s) like it and it helps even a little, it is worth it.

Hopefully they'll make more flavors for this LID dry.

We have tried pretty much every natural and 'holistic' kibble for my cat who is now 12 years old. He would vomit usually undigested food daily. My first purchase of Natures Variety was way back in 2009 and it was the raw patties. Omg they loved that stuff, especially the rabbit. I had done so much research and tried another raw brand but this was great. No more vomits and their poop was pretty much odorless! Alas, that stuff is so expensive. I even tried making my own with the whole ground up rabbit and all the same ingredients using a recipe by a vet. He even vomited that. Finally, Natures Variety Instinct sent me an email regarding the new limited ingredient diet. The pet store did not even know about it yet. She ordered some for me and we haven't looked back once! While it does cost more than avg kibble, it's much less than the raw.....considering I am now feeding 6 fur babies! From the kittens to the now 12 year old cats, they all love it. They are healthy, have beautiful coats and I order in bulk so I don't run out and get a tiny price break.

This is the best cat food that I have found. My cat has allergy issues with other foods (he gets very itchy and scratches the fur on his neck off). I've even tried other hypoallergenic, holistic and limited ingredient brands and this is the only one that works. The Blue Buffalo brand actually was causing bladder infections. He now has no issues and is a very happy cat. Thank you so much Nature's Valley! We did not know what to do before and the vet bills were piling up quickly.

Update: After 2 years of using the Nature's Variety Limited Ingredient Turkey cat food my cat is still healthy and doing great. He has not had a single allergy or bladder infection issue since we switched. He loves it and eats it every day.

This food was recommenced to me by my vet. I have one cat with a grain allergy, one cat who WAS overweight and one cat who can eat whatever and has been knows to go on a hunger strike if I buy a food that she doesn't like, and all three love this food. I have also seen a notable improvement in all three of their coats since switching to this food.

Switched to this product on the advice of my vet to try a limited ingredient, rabbit-protein based food for a rescue cat with chronic diarrhea (after working through several other limited ingredient chows to no avail). Both of my cats like it, their fur is glossier, and the chronic digestive issues seem to be resolving.

The bag of Ltd Ingredient Rabbit dry food that I received was mostly powder, rather than kibble pellets. None of my 6 kitties wanted to eat it; after I sifted out the pellets and sprinkled them with Fortiflora probiotic powder, they did eat it but some or all of them vomited up food. I haven't had this problem with the other flavors of Instinct dry food (nor with the canned food).

Something was really wrong with the rabbit flavor, so I am switching my subscription to regular (not limited ingredient) Duck and Turkey or Chicken varieties.

I wont go into way, but we ended up with 14 cats, all Bengal Siamese mixes. For 2 years I have tried every food I could find, made their food, put them on antibiotics, and they have had every test possible, and no real explanation. Nothing cured their diarrhea and vomiting. They have seen 4 vets. We lost 3 of the cats, they just wasted away. After 3 weeks on this food, no more vomiting. Our little Molina, who never grew any bigger than a 6 month old kitten, just had her first solid poop. It brought tears to my eyes. It's been a long haul. It turns out Molina is a tough little thing and our mellow Padam isn't so mellow. It's like they are different cats, so much fun! Now hopefully I can find them some good homes.
