not wimpy wimpy wimpy at all. These trash bags are fricking awesome but they should be for what they cost. I only bought them because I was temporarily disabled and could not get to the grocery store to get my usual bags. I have a local brand that works real good and smells good too. If I see them on Amazon though, I will do a review. But no complaints about the Hefty Bags. If you have the money to buy them they are made from high quality and strong plastic.

I have always preferred drawstring garbage bags in my kitchen. They are much easier to tie when ready to discard. And Hefty is a brand I have always trusted. I must admit though that when it came to using scented kitchen bags I went with a competing brand for they used Febreze scents which are a favorite of mine. I am very happy I decided to try these Hefty bags for they put the other brand to shame. Their so called dual action odor control formula is no gimmick. These bags have a lovely lavender vanilla scent that is so refreshing when first removing from the box. I was glad to see that the scent lingered for quite a while after first using it as well. But most important is the odor control these bags do possess. I am an avid cook and there are always some parts of vegetables and other items not meant to go down the garbage disposal so I toss them in the kitchen trash. These bags supposedly neutralize the odor that may be in the bag and block any scent not wanted from leaving the bag. I try to have a kitchen trash bag last for a week and must say that with onion skins, coffee grounds and other things my kitchen has remained totally fresh with these bags. I had definitely liked my previous bags with the Febreze scent but found these Hefty bags to hold the lavender scent longer and I noticed a definite pleasing scent every time I opened the lid to throw away a new item. Highly recommend these kitchen bags and Hefty is now my brand of choice.

These bags function as well as any Hefty Garbage Bag, which overall are the best, strongest, most user friendly garbage bags I've used. I really don't buy any other brand, but the lavender vanilla scent is way too chemical and strong. When I first opened the box, it didn't seem too bad, but as the weeks went on, the smell just seemed to get stronger, more annoying and irritating. I couldn't wait to finish the box and return to the regular odor-block unscented.

The nice thing about the Hefty Odor Block Tall Kitchen Bags, Lavender Vanilla Scent is that they do indeed help to block out the odors associated with garbage. These bags come infused with a lavender vanilla scent (not too overwhelming I found, you don't notice it too much unless you open up your garbage can) that does last few days it takes for the bags to be filled (at least in my house). The ties are strong enough to support most bags of garbage (unless you really pack it full with something heavy) and the plastic does a good job of holding up and not tearing (one bag was filled with various papers and boxes, and while there were a few sharp edges poking out, the bag didn't tear). We've used Hefty at our house for years, so it's nice to see something new, and the odor block bags are great in the kitchen. Definitely will be looking out to see if they have these in their extra strong line.

I don't think you really begin to appreciate good garbage bags until you reach that age when you try to make sure that more garbage goes out of your house than comes into it. I guess I've reached that age because I find myself in the garbage-bag aisle in the grocery store comparing features and prices. For a single person with two cats, I (we) seem to produce an inordinate amount of garbage. I eventually got sick of store-brand bags ripping out (usually at 2 a.m. on a cold winter night) and started buying better bags.

My favorite bags so far are the Glad Force Flex bags and the Heft Ultra Flex--the ones that have a quilted pattern in them. They are stronger (and more expensive) and they're my first choice.

That said, these bags seem very strong and so far no accidents. I've only used a few of them but I've put them through the usual tests with both kitchen garbage and kitty litter (and how I wish I owned stock in that company) and they've held up very well.

I also like the scent, it's nice but not too overpowering. You really can't test these scented bags until it's 90F in July (which is when you realize they're not just a gimmick), but it's nice to open the kitchen garbage and not get overpowered by the scent of the garbage--or the perfume.

Pretty good bags, but for very heavy loads, I think I still prefer the "flex" style.

If your trash can is at all on the tall-side, DON'T ORDER. These are short bags. Shorter than most that I've ever purchased that were marked "tall kitchen". I have a SimpleHuman trash can, nothing unusual, and these don't even come to the top so every time we put trash in we have to pull the bag back up towards the top of the can. If your can is short and fat, rather than tall and slim, these will probably work great.

I am very disappointed in the size of these. I always purchase the 13 gallon bags and they always fit my garbage cans perfectly. However these bags are A LOT smaller than 13 gallon. They don't reach the bottom of my 13 gallon garbage cans. They look more like a 10 gallon bag. I will not be purchasing these again. They do smell really nice though and seem to be very strong quality. Just wish they were alot bigger.
