I am 5'5" and at 8 months i am about 162 lbs (about 130 pre-preg). First, i will say that "disposable" is a silly description because anything is "disposable" if you are willing to spend X dollars on something you will only use once and then throw out. I purchased 3 possible delivery gowns and compare them here. All three fit me fine.

BG Birthing Gown (Blueberry Pie):
- most attractive, both in terms of style and fabric.
-i liked the extra coverage up top.
-velcro on each shoulder so that it can be undone to breastfeed.
-wrap style
-opens in the *back* but not in the front. Would be good for epidural but not so good for the baby monitor that goes on your belly. Only 2 stars for this reason.

Labor Gown by Baby Be Mine (Luscious Pink):
-I liked the extra coverage up top. Fabric is unattractive.
-metal snaps on each shoulder so that it can be undone to breastfeed. I read another review of some gown (can't remember which one) in which a reviewer noted that the hospital would not let her wear it because of metal snaps as they could interfere with some hospital procedure/equipment. But I do not have any experience in that area.
-wrap style
- opens in the front, but not the back. Thus would provide easy access for baby monitor equipment but not an epidural. Only 2 stars for this reason.

Pretty Pushers 100% Cotton Disposable Labor & Delivery Gown (2-16 Pre-Pregnancy, Green):
-cheap looking fabric
- do not like the style of the top. Does not provide support and my bra straps (needed due to the lack of support) definitely will show. Only 3 stars for this reason.
-ties around the neck, and the ties can be untied for breastfeeding or to undress.
- has a low back with a tie.Read more ›

Pros:
The fabric is soft and comfortable
Gorgeous colors

Cons:
Entire back of the gown is open, just like a tradition hospital gown
Top is NOT sized for large breasts

I did not like that this gown is open backed and has to be tied closed (awkward to attempt without help) just like the regular hospital gowns. Other types of birthing gowns I've seen have a Velcro opening or similar solution for those who want epidural access. This design doesn't provide any more privacy than the typical hospital garb, though it is certainly much softer.
In addition, the description reads "one size fits most" but I think that's likely a stretch. I'm regularly a size 12. This gown fit around me fine, but there was not NEARLY enough room designated for breasts! Seems to me if your pregnant mams are much over a C cup they don't stand a chance of fitting into this thing properly. Mine are significantly larger than that, so it's not even close. Returning.

I purchased the labor gown by baby be mine, the BG birthing gown, and the pretty pushers gown. I kept the BG gown and returned the other two. I loved everything about this gown, except for the Velcro top. If I could take the snaps from the baby be mine gown and put them on this, it would have been the perfect gown. I would recommend ordering all three to see which best suits your needs. I plan on using this for L&D, and also as a nursing/ night gown. It's pricey, but I really feel it's worth it and that I will get plenty of use out of it.

Update:
After using this gown for delivery, I have a few things to add. First, I didn't actually put on the gown until we were ready to leave for the hospital. I was pretty far into labor, and navigating the multiple straps and waist loops mid contraction was more than frustrating. Once someone helped me tie it on, we were good to go. So either put it on early, or make sure someone knows how to tie it for you ahead of time.

The hospital staff was fine with me wearing my own clothes, and even a few of the nurses said they liked it and asked where I got it. I only wish it opened in the front instead of the back. I haven't used it for nursing outside of the hospital, but I still plan to keep it for that.

I ordered the Birthgown Midnight Blue/Violet Trim (which is more pink than violet) and I absolutely love it!
The gown looks basically like a wrap style dress. I like the fabric which is very stretchy and I'm sure I will be able to move around, sit on my birthing ball, squat etc.
The gown hasn't an open back like I read in some reviews but nurses can still have access to your back for pain management by untying the sash (your bottom will still be covered!). The snaps at the shoulders are perfect to breastfeed your baby right after birth.
I was concerned that the gown wouldn't fit properly since I'm a 36DD and usually wear a size 12/14 but it fits perfectly. I feel so lucky to have a pretty and practical alternative for giving birth to my baby and can't wait to wear it very soon!

I had my son via c section and was so happy to have this gown. It was so easy to breastfeed in with the Velcro shoulders. The wrap made me feel like I was covered and it was easy to put on. I wore this several times at home when we first got home from the hospital as it washes up very nicely and easily accommodated my belly band. I look forward to having this for my next birth!
