This is wonderful product, providing the versatility I needed in a multi-desk design (1 standing & 1 sitting). The mount is well made and the movement is fluid and controlled. There are two words of warning that I will give, which should be considered:

1. There are 3 plastic clips on the underside of the arm, which are used for managing the cables. The plastic is a bit brittle, such that I broke 2 of the 3. This can easily be solved by replacing them w/ a makeshift clip from Home Depot, etc. However, if you are careful, it should not be a problem. Also, note that Ergotech promptly sent me 2 clips after I contacted them and sent them a picture of the broken clips. Hopefully, they will resolve this in future designs w/ metal clips. Regardless, their customer service was quick to resolve, whick is why I am not dinging them on the review.

2. As others have pointed out, this is a very strong arm. I am using 2 27" monitors for my configuration. When I installed my first monitor, it was the lighter of the two and it was difficult to maintain positioning. I am sure that I could have adjusted the springs to accomodate the lack of weight, but it is just worth noting that a slim lightweight 27" monitor is not going to require some tweaking to work correctly. Once I installed the heavier of the two, the arm worked like a charm. Again, this is not a ding, per se. It's just a warning to those wishing to use this on a slim/lightweight monitor. Hopefully, Ergotech will update future listings to warn people about the 8 lb minimum discussed in the other review.

I have a 22" monitor that I was hoping to mount using the Freedom Arm and use in a sit/stand desk arrangement. It came quickly, was hefty and well-made. However, the spring in the arm is so robust that it requires at least an 8lbs monitor to keep the arm at any other height other than all the way up. The description should read "for use with monitors up to 17lbs, 8lbs *minimum*." I emailed Ergotech's quick, helpful, responsive customer service who gave me the 8lb number, which as of this date isn't what Amazon has listed as the minimum weight--it has even less. This mount would have been everything I was looking for had I had a heavier monitor, had Ergotech mentioned that little fact, or both. Am returning, sadly.

Easy to install and works flawlessly. The display moves up, down, in/out and side to side with great ease. Be careful however of the monitor weight requirements. If your monitor is not at least 8.4 lbs, it will not lower properly or at all. I ended up having to add 1.5lbs of weight to the monitor so it would work correctly, but that is only because I did not notice the weight requirement.

Very nice Monitor arm with as the name suggests great freedom of movement. The installation was without any problems, however you should make sure you have a level for orientation and a drill bit for a hex bolt as the screws that come with the stand can't be used with a regular philips bit. Also, the monitor arm came with a broken cable management clip but when I contacted Amazon they were willing to do a partial refund. I was able to replace the clip with a cable tie bracket.

I installed it with standard drill and bits. Kit has everything else you need (install on drywall or into existing wall stud).
Product really does allow easy movement, the tension is adjustable so even kids can easily move the monitor.
