The sidewalls of this bag are foam. If you try and place anything on TOP of the bag and then secure with a bungee cord, the bag collapses. Much better design would be like the old Cannondale trunks with hard plastic liners. Outer side pockets are HUGE. Too huge. Put a spare tube in one side and the pocket droops down toward the tire. The document pocket on top is kind of wasted space. Much better design would have been to make that a couple inches thick to accomodate bike locks, snacks etc. As it is, it will hold a folded piece of paper or two. They should have put a small pocket on the REAR of the trunk, wasted space there. THE STRAPS are silly. Since the bottom of the bag is not rigid (soft foam rubber) tightening the side straps only collapses the bag. The "other half" of the velcro for those side straps is hidden under the big floppy side pockets and REALLY difficult to get to. There is no strap on the FRONT of the trunk to keep the whole thing from sliding rearward. Image shown in the Amazon listing is not the style I received. Just minor difference. There is no horizontal velcro strip on the side like the police model.

This is a very nice bag - roomy and the side pouches allow me to separate what I need to. It took me a few minutes to figure out that the velcro straps wrap around both sides the bike rack for stability, but I'm guessing it was just a senior moment. Love the top zipped section and color as well.
