This is a decent timer, but a little overpriced at $17.00. $10 would be perfect. The buttons have a cheap feel to them, but they work satisfactorily. Times up to, counts down from, a maximum of 19 hours 59 minutes -- which should be more the enough for most applications. The clock is 12 hour with no distinction between AM and PM -- again, not a big deal. The alarm is rather sift, however the application for which I'm using this is in a quiet environment. If you need a LOUD alarm, pass on this one.

One MAJOR annoyance is the STOP button (which is why I gave only 4 stars (and the soft alarm)). When you press STOP, it resets the timer to 00:00. To start/stop and restart the timer functions you have to press the START button only. Pressing STOP clears it. Livable, but you have to get used to it.

The FUNCTION that I absolutely must have is the warning beeps at 10 minutes and 5 minutes to zero. This is the ONLY timer I found that does that. Radio Shack no longer has one.

All in all a good, simple, timer. I’m ordering a second one to have on hand if/when this one stops working.

Easy to read, I am glad the battery comes pre-installed as the battery door is very hard to budge.
My only real complaint is that the alarm is not very loud. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being very very loud, I would rate this around a 4. If you are within a few feet you will hear it otherwise good luck.

Just what I wanted...an affordable, simple, reliable timer for my tea every morning. Loud enough for me to hear, but not so loud to be annoying. Small enough to stick to the inside of the cupboard door so always at hand without taking up counter space or having to dig it out of the drawer.

Totally disappointed with the maker of this product right now. I have owned one of these timers for about 15 years. I like it so much that I contacted Faberware and was told that Amazon was one of the sources that I could order them from. I ordered two, one for my mother and another one for me. I had to return one of them right away, the timer would not go off. Now the second one has stop buzzing as well...and yet my fifteen year old one keeps right on working just fine.

Pros: Big display, simple buttons, easy to hear 3 rooms away, longer timings get a 10 minute and 5 minute countdown alert beep, nice long full minute ring when done, easy to shut off.
Cons: plasticky feeling and look, overall, especially the buttons.
Overall: Wish it felt more solid, but it is functional at least, and one of the only timers with the alert which can be very useful on longer timings.

Pros: Display is angled nicely for easy viewing, lightweight, easy to read & use buttons, uses single AA battery (included).
Cons: Alarm sound could be a little louder, control buttons have a flimsy & cheap feel to it, unit doesn't feel durable enough.

Works fine so far but don't drop it. Note that the operating instructions are on the back of the packaging (there is no separate instruction sheet) so don't throw it away. I am planning to purchase a different timer in the future.

It beeps briefly 10 minutes before time is up, and again 5 minutes before time is up. I'm sure some will appreciate these warning chirps for baking. However, they unnecessarily break my concentration from whatever else I was doing, and they cannot be disabled. If you just want it to beep in 45 minutes—and not before—then this is not the timer for you.

My brother with Parkinson's needs to take meds every 3 hrs, round the clock. He has tried many many alarms. This one is easy to see with its large display; easy to understand, & easy to manipulate. I am ordering 2 more to have as back-ups. True: it is not a loud alarm. But that is his preference. With the beeps leading up to the alarm time, it is enough to wake him, in a gentle way. Farberware could offer a 2nd version for the hearing impaired.
Many timers made to be medication reminders we have found to be WAY too small and hard to see and manipulate. Need a magnifying glass and a surgeon's dexterity. This one is the best so far for his needs.
