This is excellent everyday (street use) brake fluid for German cars. I used this to replace the old brake fluid in my VW Tiguan. I have Hawk HPS brake pads all around which killed the stock brake fluid. There are better brake fluids for "track use only" but for everyday street use, this is some of the best brake fluid around.

For those looking to use race type brake fluid in your everyday car like Motul RBF600, realize that it is meant to be used on the track only...those types of fluid are extremely hygroscopic and have to be changed out frequently. For your everyday "spirited" driver, Motul 5.1 is great and allows you to replace the fluid once a year. (2 years if you granny the car)

This is the best all-around brake fluid in my opinion. Great for high performance cars that need higher boiling temp protection (might be overkill for you typical sedan). It's also great to use for occasional track days. Much lower absorption rate that Motul 600 or 660, which is geared for racing and needs to be changes out more often. Price to value, Motul 5.1 rocks! Also, it's compatible with DOT3 and DOT4 which is used in most cars.

THE BEST compromise between RBF600 and DOT 4 for your car. If you want to track your car regularly, but it's your daily driver as well and you don't want to deal with flushing your silicon based braking fluid every 20,000 miles then DOT 5.1 was built for you!

It's few degrees less in boiling point than RBF600, but quite higher than DOT 3/4 that I personally never had problems with it on the track.

Motul products are used by high end car enthusiasts, race teams, and experienced mechanics. For something as important as brake fluid, do not purchase a cheap alternative. This product is more expensive than some of the alternatives but is a much higher quality product. If this is used in race cars where the brakes get substantially hotter due to higher driving speeds, it will be perfect in your daily driver. Do not purchase a cheap brake fluid.

I purchased this after having it recommended by tons of people who also drive my same vehicle (2004 Acura TL), and it's been wonderful. Better brake pedal response, shorter stopping distance, less water and contaminants in the brake lines after using this.

If you really want to be serious about having the best brake fluid in your car, look no further.

I picked this up as a low price, high quality replacement for the SRAM/AVID fluid in my MTB brakes. Did a full flush and bleed on my XO's and so far it's been flawless. It may be a little much to buy at one time if you only have one set of MTB brakes that need it, but with three sets floating around, plus a few bleeds a year for friends, I'm sure I'll use it up before it takes on too much water.

Great choice for cars that need high quality brake fluids that last a long time. Unlike race fluids, DOT5.1 will last longer and provide similar boiling protections. Great choice for high performance vehicles that need extra temp protection during heavy braking, especially when hitting the track occasionally. For the price, you cant beat this stuff.

DOT 5.1 combines the pros of DOT 4.0 and the newer DOT 5.0. Just perfect.
So you can use it in bikes who need DOT 4.0 and won't run smootly on 5.1.
