Work for the most part. The design could be much improved. One of our kittens is on a special diet where the other can eat as she pleases. It constantly closes on one of the kitten's head. I've seen youtube videos where people have added more IR sensors to remedy this. I'm not that crafty so this will have to work for now. Like many have stated, the IR for the collar could be a hell of a lot smaller. There's no need in it being the size between a quarter/$.50 cent piece.

I've got three cats and each of them have their own special bowl. Each bowl comes with a collar piece (Which has 9 different settings to match the bowl settings [You can have 9 separate bowls for 9 animals if you wanted to]) I've already had to replace the battery in one of the collar pieces after 2 weeks of owning them and have had to fixate the piece onto the cat's collar as two of them have lost theirs (Luckily we found them behind the couch).

I would advise to get the AC adapters to go with the bowls..its easier to deal with and a lot less of a hassle -AND- you don't have to buy batteries for it...ever.

Overall:
PROS
-Each cat has his/her own bowl and specific food amount or food type (Also good for medicine)
-Can get an AC adapter to keep bowls on all the time
-Tags on the collar work really good

CONS
-One cat will sit a bit from the bowl and it will open, and another cat may try and intrude on his/her food
-Collar tags need to be fastened through a loop AND over the collar to make sure it wont fly off
-AC adapters are sold seperatly

Still 5/5 stars.

It works well but they really need to make the sensor on the collar water tight. I have applied a very small bead of tub and tile caulk which will be a nuisance when I need to change the battery. Its been on there for 4 days now and seems to be keeping the moisture out. I'm going to check at my neighborhood hardware store (the big box guys don't have anything) to see if they may have a thin o-ring that will fit the slot where the covers come together.

We needed a way to feed a special diet to one cat and not the other. These had a bit of a learning curve for cats and humans. Our smaller short hair wears the tag clipped to her collar, and our larger bobcat/tabby mix has to dangle hers so that when she tucks her head it still keeps the lid open.
The company's customer service was incredible. They were able to sell us replacement bowls so I always have a clean set out & a set in the dishwasher.

We read all the personal reviews and success stories that pets and their owners have had. We purchased 2 bowls to permit different collar frequencies for each bowl as our 2 cats have very different dietary needs (one is overweight and the other has allergies). We did use a box to put the feeders in to eliminate our pets approaching the bowls from the side. And it has taken a month of them hearing the opening/closing lid sounds (or even them seeing it open/close) to get them use to the sound. One cat is thin and approaches the bowl straight on with a tall stance so we attached his sensor on the collar while the other cat (the obese one) approaches the bowl crouching so we have had to let his sensor dangle. But with either sensor location, the lid can decide to suddenly close on them --- which they are very slowly adapting to. With all that said, it will solve most of our feeding issues and hopefully help both cats achieve helathy diets. It takes TIME and PATIENCE on the part of us owners! Good luck to all :-)

Works great! I got this because the very expensive automatic feeder that advertised feeding multiple types of food to multiple cats was falsely advertised. I need to feed one of my clowder prescription food, so was forced to buy an additional feeder, and chose this one. It opens quickly when the cat is near and doesn't close on his head. Perfect.

Took a little adjusting to get this to work. Can not hang from collar as then it goes in the water dish when she gets a drink. Now I really do like it though. Got it so our dog wouldn't eat the cat food. The sad part is that we had to put our dog down due to heart issues shortly after we got it.
