Though most of my reviews on Amazon are of CDs, DVDs and books, I do eat (big grin) and Amazon has been sending me food items to review over the past year. Because I previously had a gift basket business, I attend the huge annual Fancy Food Show every year. At this year's FFS a number of companies who are now selling on Amazon asked if I would review their product. I accepted some of those offers and let the company know that it would be an honest review.

I've seen Almondina brand "cookies" at the show - and in stores - for many years. They are the original brand and, this year alone, I saw four other "copy cats". Honestly, I had only been buying the "original flavor" - Almond - which is where the name of the company came from. But one of the samples I received this month was this "combo" with both almonds and pistachios. And I love the taste! They are all natural. Basically (in this order) Nuts, flour, sugar and egg whites (plus "Natural flavor") and they appear to be "shelf-stable" since my package in August 2014 had a "best used by" date of March 2015.

The calorie content is 135 but you get 4 cookies for that and much of the calorie content (and fat 4.5 g for 4 cookies.) comes from the "healthy" - in moderation, of course -nuts. Each 4 oz package holds 14 cookies (I prefer to call them wafers). They are really nice to add a bit of a "treat" to your mid-morning or after dinner coffee (when I have always used them).

As another reviewer posted out elsewhere on Amazon, the wafers are thin and subject to breakage. A few of the packages I've bought - via Amazon as well as stores - have wafers that have broken into (usually) two pieces.Read more ›

These cookies are delicious and they should be 5 stars. Unfortunately they were not well packed and all five boxes arrived with the cookies smashed to pieces. I know there is no logic, but they just aren't as tasty when the pieces are in crumbs or dime sized.

I first got this in a gift basket, so, i tried it and just love it. it has the crunch i like, and the almonds and other ingredients that are good for you, not a wasted snack.!! After trying it, i started buying these whereever i can find them, they make a great fill in snack, when you dont want to ruin your meal ahead of time, but this will hold you over till meal time.
Beware they are crunchy, and chewy, but, it is worth it. just be careful biting into it, and you should have no problem with your teeth.

I just received these cookies today. They are delicious. Unfortunately, they are all broken, so I can't serve these to house guests. It's not worth sending them back , but they were handled poorly. For this reason, I will not be ordering these again. I would have given these cookies a five star rating for taste & quality, however, arrival condition lowered my opinion, substantially.
