I really love my Keurig brewer but after my third purchase of highly priced tea and coffee K-cups I knew I needed a more cost efficient solution. I purchased a My K-cup for the unit which allowed me to use regular canned coffee but what was I going to do about the tea? I tried opening tea bags and using that tea but it was weak and flat. Next I tried using this tea and it worked perfect (but a word of caution...remove the tea leaves from the filter while moist to make removal easier). No more brewing an entire teapot for just a quick morning cup and no waiting for tea bags to brew and it tastes great!!! Not weak and off taste but perfect. My tea consumption has increased to the point that I now use the Amazon auto ship to receive 6 boxes at a time so that I never run out. If you have a Keurig and love tea this product is the perfect solution...you won't be disappointed.

I love this tea. I am a long-time tea drinker, and purchased tea bags for longer than I want to count (or think about). A couple of years ago I decided to go for it...make loose tea, and deal with mess of leaves. And yes, I did know about strainers and tea balls, but I live in no man-s land. If it isn't prepackaged, it's unfit to ingest according to the natives. Good utensils are hard to find.

I finally found a wonderful BIG mesh tea ball. Ahhh, a tea drinker's best friend, right after a good English teapot.

The mesh ball in question is like the one sold here as a rule, by the way.

Tea is now a breeze to make, and absolutely delicious.

The loose packaged tea put out by Lipton is wonderful. It has a beautiful taste, unlike their teabags, which can be very iffy. I've had some that tasted like floor sweepings.

This loose tea seems amazingly consistent in flavor. I recommend it without reservation. And isn't Amazon just lovely...? They'll bring it right to your door. How much more could you ask?

Earlier I mentioned an English teapot. I favor Sadler's because of the excellent glaze, and the good material they use in the functional brown teapots they make.

A good teapot matters. Get yourself one, a nice tea ball, and some Lipton Loose tea and you will likely never use teabags again. If the tea is too strong, do it the way it's done in England; keep a very lightly boiling kettle going, and dilute with boiling water to your taste.

Okay, I didn't read the description very well. I ordered "loose" tea on accident. By "loose" tea, I just thought it still meant it would be in a tea bag. I know, don't make fun of me. I just didn't read it well, and I am not an expert on tea. Being frugal like I am, I was forced to use the tea anyway. (I would still like directions on how to make it without a fancy strainer. It just went straight through my colander. hee hee) I put the recommended amount in the coffee maker and brewed it that way. It was way too strong. I was able to get three gallons of iced tea from the recommended amount for one. Anyway, after a lot of trial and error, I now have drinkable tea. Lipton has always been my favorite tea, and after I drink all of this that I purchased, I will probably stick with the loose tea. Frugality wins always...

The photo and the description make it seem as if the grading of this tea is BOP. The description says “orange pekoe and pekoe“ which also led me to believe it’s BOP. When I opened the foil pouch, the tea was clearly dust and fannings. Dust will flow through my diffuser and leave grains in the cup. Only a paper tea bag can prevent this. I took the contents of the box and ran it through a mesh colander to separate the fannings from the dust. One extra step to get a decent cup of tea. That puts this loose tea on the same level as tea bags. I still enjoy the mellow Lipton Ceylon flavor, but I will stick to tea bags until I can find true Lipton FOP + BOP loose tea.
Unilever Consumer Service commented on my review and I called them hoping to address my concerns. I was looking for feedback on a higher grade BOP or a CTC product. I called the 800 number in the comment and got voicemail.

I've used Lipton's Loose Tea for almost 50 years now and will never change to another brand unless Lipton's goes out of business. The loose tea consistently makes absolutely the best glass of iced tea. Tea bags (any brand) are no comparison, not even close to the same great flavor of Lipton's loose leaf tea. I have a large extended family with many friends, my iced tea is famous among them, for being the best....Thanks Lipton's! And....thanks Amazon for the wonderful subscription service....Love it!!

****REVISED REVIEW***
It is with great sadness, I have to report my relationship with Lipton's orange pekoe/black tea is officially over today. I've been their biggest fan until recently, they've changed their product to be a "tea powder", not leaves. I had noticed in recent years slight changes, but the last few boxes have been so inferior, I was forced to find an alternative. Lipton lovers try the orange pekoe/black tea from Coffee Bean Direct on Amazon....it's like the old Lipton's, with real leaves, not powder. I've included a photo to show the difference in the two tea brands.
