I usually wouldn't review the motherboard after only a few days - but I feel that the ridiculous 1-star review needs to be offset. Standard DDR3 RAM fits fine, as does new fourth-generation Intel CPU. It has video ports for every taste (VGA, DVI, HDMI, and D-Sub); SATA-3 and USB-3 (2 on the back, and 1 inside) ports. All of that in a micro-ATX form factor and sub-100 price point.

In summary, if you assemble your own computer - it's certainly something to consider.

Beautiful lay out and color 4 memory sockets VGA,DVI,HDMI USB 2.0 and 3.0 (The blue ones) LGA 1150 4th generation intel SATA 6.0 and one of the most BIOS interface I have seen where you can control speed of your fans crammed on a Micro ATX by a well known respeted motherboard manufacturer!! What is not to LOve? what are you wating just go ahead and buy it!! and Did I mention is less than a $100

Update: 06/05/2015 WOW is been almost 2 years and this Mobo still going strong,I use this PC to game everyday no problems at all

I bought this board for a budget build a did a couple of months back. I paired it with a 4th gen i5 and it has been running incredibly since the day I power the machine up. Everything worked right out of the box with no configuration required. Asus is my go to brand when I don't need all the power/features of say an EVGA board. Don't get me wrong though, that's not to say that this board is devoid of features, it just doesn't have as many. For $90 though, this is a great buy!

So far I've built 60 new systems (and counting) this year with the ASUS B85M-E/CSM motherboards, after components are put together, it'll fire up to be greeted with "New CPU installed! Press F1 to enter setup." on the screen to go into the sleek setup. The ASUS "F8" key for boot menu is still there. Plays well with the recent Zorin/Ubuntu/Xubuntu live boot distros (to deal with the poor ol' Windows), Windows 7, and Windows 8/8.1. Motherboard DVD disc still come with the annoying setup menu that make you think ASUS pushing apps along with the motherboard's device drivers but just click "ASUS Inst-all" and you'll see the option to install the drivers only.

Surprised that this board do have a parallel LPT1/Serial COM I/O ports, particularly important for anyone still using machines/equipments/devies that still rely on the begotten interfaces, but ASUS doesn't supply the cable/port with it to attach to the back of the case's slots so you will have to look for such items in the computer recycling depot or someplace.

The motherboard's I/O is too cushiony in my opinion, the plate does bulge outward, and made plugging USB a little more effort.

In all, I recommend this board for those who don't want to spend too much, but enough to avoid spending on the cheapies boards.

This is a great basic MB. It will work for most peoples needs very well. I build and repair computers for a living and I use this board as my main unit. I have used many dozens of this series and will continue to. It lays out very nicely and has everything most people will need. Throw a 3.6 Gig i3 (i3-4160), an SSD, and 8 gig of RAM in and this is a very inexpensive little powerhouse. If you are looking for a monster that you can overclock and go crazy with, this may not be the board for you. However, you can overclock with this MB and it would be a great board for even someone who wants a little crazy! This is without question the best MB you will find at this level. And you are not skimping on this board. It is as good as boards costing considerably more. You will do well with this board. I highly recommend it.

Have sold a few dozen of these to customers with no issues. Good for an inexpensive home or business build. 4 memory slots which is good as many low cost boards only have 2. This is a CSM model which can sometimes be hard to find but worth the extra few bucks as Asus will cross-ship if you end up having to do an RMA. CSM=Corporate Stable Model.
