Ethernet cables aren't too exciting, but at least know this one works well. I've ordered several in different colors and lengths and had no issues with it working in my gigabit network.

It uses 24 gauge wire and is marked as Gigabit Ethernet compliant. It is UL listed type CMX cable.

Each end has a boot as advertised. Booted cables have advantages and disadvantages. When pulling cables, the boot helps prevent snagging, but in tight spaces the boot can make it hard to get your fingers around it to disconnect it. In tight spaces I just slice off the offending plastic "bubble" when I install and that quickly takes care of the problem.

If you are too concerned about color, sometimes certain colors are significantly less expensive then other so you may be able to save some money by checking all the options. Sometimes longer cables can be less expensive than shorter as well, go figure.

It works very well!

These short cables were so we could clean up mess on our data shelf, modem, router, switch, because three or four foot cables are just too big. They work great from a bulk point of view, the only problem we had was that they are not, by nature, very flexible and too much bending is bad for the cable. If you screw or mount the hardware, or do not mind it it sits a bit crooked, you will be all right. Color coding is great for seeing what goes where too.

Now I can plug the laptop into the router and deal with the router emergency, or dealing with setting up the weird old cheap hp printer to the network in spite of software inadequacies. This is a good thing. Better than having to lug the desktop around for the same purpose.
