I purchased the silver version of the Mophie Juice Pack for my HTC One about three weeks ago. I purchased mine direct from Mophie as Amazon did not have the silver versions in stock yet and I wanted to match the silver of my phone. Unfortunately, paying more for this was clearly a mistake.

Functionally, the case is perfect and meets all my needs. As others have said, this is a pretty hefty case. I purchased a Juice Pack Plus for my old iPhone 4 about 1.5 years ago, so I was prepared for the dramatic size and weight increase. It's a compromise -- all the added bulk adds up to a case that protects the phone well and provides exceptional battery life. This version is no different in the regard. I have been very satisfied with the backup battery's performance. When charging, the phone's battery charges first, and when the phone is full the Mophie starts charging it's battery. The combined charge can take some time... the HTC One isn't the speediest charging phone out there, so I have had one instance where both the phone and case were completely discharged, and even leaving it over night wasn't enough to get the case back to 100%. The phone was at 100% and the case was reading 75% per the lights (nice touch that they now keep the lights off when charging). But that was a pretty unusual circumstance, and as I did not use the backup battery the next day, I was able to get it to full charge the next time I plugged it in.

Upon arrival, I have to say the case looked fantastic. The frosted silver finish is a VERY close match for the aluminum body of the One. Unfortunately, that doesn't last. In less than two weeks, the frosted silver finish began flaking off the case. Mind you, this is with no drops or other scratch damage that could weaken the finish. UPDATE : I actually had to exchange my first Mophie with Best Buy due to a pretty serious defect. Since my exchange unit appears to be working, I'm going to chalk up my first as a dud and not knock my star rating, but make sure you read the note at the bottom of this review! Android power users should see the bottom note as well.

I imagine my experience with the HTC One has been similar to many: after getting this wonderful phone, I started looking about for a low-impact case and screen protector for the One. It's hard to find a good balance of protection and design, and I'm still poking around (for reference, I started with a SPIGEN SGP HTC ONE 2013 Screen Protector Clear Steinheil [Ultra Crystal] [2-PACK] Front Screen Protector / HTC One M7 Screen Protector before moving to the amFilm Premium Screen Protector Film Clear (Invisible) for HTC One (3 Pack) [Lifetime Replacement Warranty], and on the case side am keeping a hold on the EasyAcc Sucker Design HTC ONE M7 Wallet Case Folio Flip Cover Leather Case Anti Shock Skin Pouch Pocket for HTC ONE M7 (Premium PU Leather, Black, Slim, for Men)).

One thing that was clear in all my testing though is that the HTC One is not very flexible in the battery department. Coming from a Galaxy Nexus, where removable batteries were a fact of life, this was rather worrying.Read more ›

I've never bought a Mophie Juice Pack before. As a matter of fact I remember laughing at their over priced battery case when I saw them for the Iphone a year or two ago at Best Buy.

Well, here I am... a little older, a little wiser, I think anyway. I bought this at my local Best Buy. I've been waiting for them to get the HTC One's model in and was excited when it finally was in stock, because as we all know the HTC One's battery drains fast when playing games on it. I have the silver phone and bought the case in black. I was a little concerned because I really wanted the silver case to go with my silver phone but I think it looks good with the black Mophie on it.

I don't know about how much charge you really get because I've never let my phone completely die before using this, nor have I charged my phone, using this case, to 100% either. Just to about 60% and then I turn off the Mophie, just incase I need a little more boost before I get home from work.

Let me start with the Pros

Pros:
I don't have to worry about my phone dying, just with a flip of a switch the Mophie Juice Pack starts charging my phone.
Don't have to worry about long trips that keep me from a outlet to charge my phone
I think, while it does add more weight it also makes the phone feel more solid. It's hard to explain, but the weight isn't that big of a deal when talking on my phone.
I like the feel of this case. It feels solid

Now the Negatives:
Like I said it does add more weight to it and previously I didn't really feel my phone in my pocket. With the Mophie on my phone I am definitely aware that my phone is in my pocket.
