Fantastic solution to our problem. My dog (Pembroke Welsh Corgi) LOVES to sneak snacks from the litter box. (i.e. he eats poop, which is gross considering how much he loves to lick people.) Our old apartment had a bigger coat closet, so we set the litter box on a crate so he couldn't reach it. (Take that, stubby legged fiend!) Our new place has a coat closet the size of coffin, so we had to put the litterbox in the laundry room. The crate we used in the old place was too big to fit with the washer and dryer, and our cat can't get on top of the washer so we couldn't put the litter box up there. (And didn't really want to anyway) Peek a Boo let us keep the litterbox on the floor and keep the dog out of the laundry room. Now the cat can get in and stink it up, but the dog can only stick his nose through the crack and sigh at the missed opportunity.

I bought the Peek a Boo latch about 6 months ago and absolutely LOVE it. I've told all my friends with cats and dogs in the house to get it. It worked perfectly for me and only took me a couple minutes to install. I put the hook on a large walk in closet door, now my cat has her own "safe haven" away from our energetic female pit who just turned one. I keep her litter box and her food/water in the closet and she can come and go as she pleases. She loves it, and I never have to worry about our dog getting into her litterbox or eating all her food.
I highly recommend this product - it's a great solution for a problem so many pet-lovers deal with every day.

This was easy to install with two different options of using adhesives, or screwing it in the frame and door. This worked perfectly in keeping the dogs out of the laundry room, but still giving the cat plenty of room to go in and get to his litter box.

We use this in our house for multiple reasons. It's great to use to keep a door propped open for your cats (small dogs) if your doors ever close on their own. It works to keep out big dogs too.

However, small dogs just trot on in. So it does not keep those out.

It was easy to put up with the provided sticky pads, though I'm not sure how cleanly they release.

Since it was put up with pads and not screwed in, I'm not sure it would survive a child/adult trying to get in the room and forgetting to un-latch it and really pushing/slamming the door open. It might rip it off the door. But I bet if you screwed it in, it would not be a problem. I live in an all adult household and we have never had guests or ourselves rip it or not see it (it's near eye height)

We have a 25 lb. dog. He managed to squeeze through the opening and enjoy yet another snack. The product worked in that he could not get back out. Hubby was awakened to his wining at 2 am. I still don't know how he did it, he is an American Eskimo Poodle Mix. This may work for a larger dog, but if your dog is less than 30 lbs, it might not. Great concept though. I'm thinking about relocating one side to make the opening a tad smaller, I can't go too small because I have a large cat.

We got a cat two weeks ago, and within days realized that we needed a way to keep her food away from our 11 lb miniature pinscher. Someone at the shelter had mentioned a 'hook', so I came to Amazon for help -- and found this. This thing works perfectly. We mounted it using 3m poster hangers because we didn't want to damage the door with screws or the VERY sticky looking adhesive pads. This works fine! I was worried because some of the reviews seemed to indicate that my dog, being small, might fit through - not a chance. The cat fits just fine, but no way an 11 lb dog is getting through that space. Now the cat has a safe space for her food and her litter box!

Easy to use and keeps the dogs out of the cat's food and litter box. We attached it to the door just above the doorknob. Works great! We have a 67 lb border collie and a 45 lb smooth collie and neither have gotten into the cat's room thus far. No more 'turd burglars'!

This is far superior to the cloth strap contraption, because this keeps the door OPEN the same amount all the time, instead of allowing the door to close by mistake and trap the kitties OUT of their private area. It was a challenge to mount it so that it sat flush on the door jamb, but totally worth it. It keeps out my 20-pound skinny pup while letting in our 8-pound kitty. Now if you have a REALLY large cat, this might not work for you, because it is NOT adjustable like the cloth Door Buddy strap is. And, this won't help keep out a really small dog. :) But we love it, it works, it's easy to operate, it is sturdy as heck, AND if I choose, I can close the door without a problem after unlatching. Highly recommend!!!
