Do not buy a Cubify printer! I have a $3,000 paper weight and Cubify does nothing! No customer support - calls an emails either go unanswered or you get a 'boiler plate' response back.
My quote and invoice was to include a spool of ABS and PLA material - when the printer arrived, it had two spools of PLA - Customer Service basically said they only ship with PLA regardless of what your order was for. Not to mention the printer was 2 months late! Also, due to the Cubify pinter using proprietary material cartridges, you cannot get material! It has been over 7 months of trying to acquire material, with no avail - and Customer Service continues to just push the promise date out. Print spec doesn't even come close to what is advertised! (and yes, I have used multiple 3d printers over the years to know this printer does not work as promised!)

The printer arrived damaged in shipping. The case was damaged as was the printing platen and one of the table adjusting screws was bent. Replacement case and printing platen were slow to get replaced. After a week, one of the nozzles was broken. The nozzle and the bent screw have yet to be replaced, after another 6 weeks.
They refuse to replace the printer or cancel the order or send a repairman. Last communication they were going to have it picked up to be repaired, that was 4 weeks ago and it is still here.
What printing I tried was horrible. Stray plastic dragged across part. It was nothing like videos I saw on internet. I would stay away from this.

Stay away and wait at least a year for this one. It's been months and you still can't get PLA for it. Every other 3D printer no problems, this one forget it. Can't return it cant get PLA for it. I basically have a cool looking boat anchor.

Yes folks, you read correctly. Not only is the Cubex Duo the worst 3D printer in existence, it's the worst THING ever made. Worse than getting a paper cut in the webbing between your fingers. I'm pretty sure marriages have ended because of it. Did I mention that this is the single worst product I have ever used in my entire life? It's as if 3D Systems forgot to actually test their machines and hired a Rhesus monkey as quality control manager. This is the epitome of a half-baked idea rushed to market. It says a lot about a company that doesn't even use their own machines to build the demo models you see on their website. (A colleague of mine discovered this during a visit to a 3D Systems facility in NYC.) But I digress. Here are a few of my ownership highlights:

1. When I received the printer the top panel was cracked in half, one of the material cartridges was jammed beyond repair and was therefore useless, and at some point during transit or more likely because of the use of subpar materials, the metal locating piece under the glass platform decided to become unglued. Of course it was impossible to stick it back on in the exact same spot so I basically had to guess. Kind of like trying to hit a pinata except way less fun.

2. The platform angle is waaaaay off-level so many models were ruined. There's no way to correct this through traditional means so I finally fixed it by gluing a couple pennies underneath the rubber feet of the platform. That's right, I had to GLUE freakin' PENNIES to my $4,000 3D printer.

3. During almost every build, the material nozzle would accumulate a glob of molten plastic that would eventually dislodge itself and become part of the model.

First off, I did not buy my Cubex Duo through Amazon.com, I bought it directly from the Cubify website.

I am a hardware and electrical engineer with considerable experience using 3-D printers.

I ordered my Cubex Duo in early August. It was nearly four weeks before the printer shipped (from the U.K. by 3D Systems) They have no domestic stock. When the printer shipped, it took only a week to arrive, with most of that time spent travelling within the U.K. Once the package was released by Philadelphia customs, it took only one day to be delivered to San Francisco, CA. This is a definite Kudo. The printer arrived with the upper tractor feed belt popped loose and one of the filament feed tubes out of place. It took a few minutes to correct those problems, but they were easy to repair. Other than that, setup was flawless.

I loaded the software from the Cubify web site and went through the steps to create a .cubex file. I copied it to the supplied USB stick and plugged it in to the USB port on the printer. (The printer has USB A and B ports, but does not allow you to plug in to a USB port on the host computer. The USB B port is only there for updating firmware. I certainly hope that with Windows 8.1 directly supporting 3-D printers including the Cubex Cube, that Cubify will offer a firmware update that allows direct printing. It is after all, a printer.) Anyway, the printer reported 0 of 0 files on the USB stick. I tried a different USB stick, with the same problem. I tried various permutations of .cubex files and USB sticks to no avail. I called Cubify support and they decided that the problem was the USB board on the printer. They offered to send me a replacement USB board that I could install myself. I am a hardware engineer, so no problem there.
