I was a bit skeptical after reading some of the reviews, but bought one anyway and boy I was impressed. If you rig and use it properly I belive that it will do all that it is advertised and designed to do. That is why I am back here after a few months to write this review. I am going to post it elsewhere as well, as I always consider the reviews and reviewers before I purchase a product myself, and I want Warn to continue making this winch. I had 2 cars and 3 vans sitting in my yard from 12 years for the Ranchero to at least 4 years for the newest mini van. Needless to say, they had sunk into the ground, had weeds grow all around the tires as well as the rotors or drums freezing up from rust. I needed a winch to get these vehicles up the ramp onto a car hauler. I had to beat on the wheels to get them freed up and air up the tires but the PullzAll never failed in getting them up the ramp, even when it had to drag a van with a wheel still frozen. It was bogging the winch pretty bad, so I put a piece of sheet metal under the frozen wheel to make it easier to drag and up the ramp it went. You have to have some common sense when using it. If the winch can't be placed high enough above the trailer and you try to pull something up and are actually pulling down onto or against the ramp basically compressing the vehicle down against the ramp while trying to pull it forward you probably will over-torque the winch. This is not an unlimited capacity, pull an Army Tank up the side of a building winch. This winch is small and light and does a great job for the size. It does NOT seem to be high quality, and I do not know how long it will last, but it did the jobs well without any problems and did everything that it was advertised to do.Read more ›

Used this winch to haul our dock about 25-30 feet up the beach for winter.

Negatives:
1. Very short duty cycle (minus 1 star): Unit gets very hot very quickly. However, we did not wait the recommended 30 mins for unit to cool down, and were able to complete the job without it shutting down.
2. Short cable length (minus 1 star): Cable is only 15 feet long so this meant we needed additional chain to reach the dock, and had to reel it out a few times to get the job done. There's no release switch to allow you to freely pull out the cable so it's a bit of a pain that way (have to press the reverse power button to let the cable out.......slowly!).

Positives:
1. Cost about $100 less on Amazon.com than the exact same unit at retail store in Canada (even after paying tax at the border).
2. Saved our backs from doing this job the manual way.

I had to try the Pullzall my company works on conveyors cutting and welding in sections late at night. At the end of the process we have to pull the chain back through the conveyor and reload sometimes 100 feet in length. What usually takes 4 guys all very tired from working all night, now takes nothing more than the Pullzall. We also used this to lift 500lb conveyor sections something not recommended with a straight winch system, it worked perfectly. It was a great buy, a smart purchase, and delivered by amazon on time with zero hassles. Our customer liked the Pullzall so much this was my second Pullzall purchase, he took the other.

This device is very versitile and quality made. It's just the ticket for hoisting and lowering heavy objects safely. As we get older we realize that safe work habbits are paramont when working with heavy objects and avoiding serious injuries. This motorized device is perfect for the few things that I do as an amature home and auto construction person. I considered the cordless version but decided for the price this was the best value and AC power was almost available to me in the locations that I was working.

Used to load 8 link sections of Abrams tracks on and off a trailer at about 600lbs/ section. Used to pull several transmissions, and the entire body (bed then cab) from a full size truck. Moved a fair amount of heavy steel around the shop. The cab was the heaviest, but the load limiter would protect the device (and me) if I tried to lift too much. The absolute best part of this unit is the variable speed trigger- unlike cheap hoists that are either 100% or 0% then the load starts jerking and bouncing (which can EASILY overload/catastrophically break lifting components) the variable speed trigger really is top notch. Easing a heavy load into the air, gently nudging a transmission into place, and my wife was able to operate it proficiently after only about 30 sec of instruction (very intuitive). The ONLY THING MISSING is a REMOTE. Any heavy lifting hoist should have a remote. The avionics guys looked at it and figured out how to make a harness for it, but I decided it was just too much work to ask. I REALLY don't like being in contact with hundreds of pounds dangling from a single cable and stretching awkwardly to try to reach this thing while lifting an awkward load. Since it's usually the only way someone will have to lift something it can cause people to do things they know they shouldn't. Used properly, it's awesome. Also, people talk about burned out motors and smoke. I loaded ~5000+ lbs of Abrams tracks (one side at a time) in a single go onto a trailer (I-beam rolling crane) taking only short breaks in between. Worked perfectly. If I got a faint smell of a hot motor I just let it sit for a minute. Either those people got a defective unit or more likely: “Yer doin’ it wrong!”.
